Part 7 - The Yule Ball (2)

All the girls at Hogwarts were busy dressing up for the ball. The girls' dormitories were in total chaos.
"Mia, how do I look ? "Ginny asked me, twirling around in her pink and green gown.
"You look amazing !" I told her.
Ginny stopped twirling as her eyes fell on my necklace.
"Wow, its beautiful" she said touching it.
"Draco's mother gave it to me last Christmas " I said with a smile.
She smiled at me, and said " Draco's going to love the way you look tonight"
I blushed, as I moved to stand in front of the full length mirror. I wore a silver gown, with smooth little waves along the length of it, and no sleeves. Each wave was lined with small white stones. I wore small emerald earings to go with my necklace, and left my hair open with little curls at the end.
Finally when it was time to go, I put on the silver shoes Mum had sent me, and walked towards the common room, and then the outside. I walked towards the flight of stairs, that led to the Great Hall.
At the base of the stairs, stood Draco, in his best suit, looking absolutely ravishing. I smiled at him, as he stared at me, as if seeing me for the first time.
As I reached the bottom step, he held out his hand, which I took. He smiled at me and kissed the back of my hand.
"Mia" He said, unable to hide the surprise in his voice. "You look gorgeous"
"You dont look so bad yourself" I said, as he laughed.
We walked to the Great Hall, and after the champions danced first ("Stupid Potter " Draco complained, in a whisper), we began dancing. It was kind of odd because it was my first time. And Draco's hand on my waist sent shivers down my spine. After a while, Draco whispered ," Come with me, lets go somewhere else"
With that he pulled me through the crowd ,outside the hall. Many couples shared quiet moments at various hallways, and finally we got one to ourselves.
"What are we doing here ?" I asked him looking around.
"Dancing of course!" He said grabbing me by my waist towards him. I blushed heavily as we danced in the hallway, Draco holding me close to him. The scent of his cologne made my knees weak. He had a self satisfied grin on his face, his eyes on my face.
"Dont look at me like that !" I said in a small voice.
"You look just so beautiful,Mia" Draco said close to my ear, and it gave me goosebumbs. "Im glad I have you"
I smiled at Draco, totally happy to hear that.
And then, I felt his face coming close to mine, his minty breath falling on me. And just as he was about kiss me, we heard loud voices coming our way. We looked back, Draco still holding me in his arms.
Hermione was marching straight towards us, saying "You spoiled everything Ron !"
"What are you two doing here?" she snapped at us.
"What do you care, Mud- " With a look from me, Draco fell silent, folding his arms across his chest, irritated.
Screaming more scoldings at Harry and Ron, Hermione rushed off to our dormitory, followed by the boys. That left Draco and me in the now silent hallway.
He was muttering things under his breath, obviously insults at the trio, making me laugh.
"What are you laughing at ?!" he snapped at me.
"Aww...you look so cute when you're angry" I said, laughing more.
After glaring at me for about a minute, he gave in and laughed with me.
"Well she ruined everything for us, didnt she" Draco said, now hands in pockets, and leaning against the stone wall.
I looked at him silently.
"I guess I should go to bed now" I said slowly.
Draco nodded.
I knew he wont be giving me that kiss now, so I went close to him, put my hands on his arms ,stood on tip-toes, and kissed him on his cheek. And the both of us turned our faces slightly to look at eachother. His warm breath fell on my face, making my own breath shaky.
He smiled with a blush, so did I.
"Good night, Draco." I said. "Thanks for tonight"
He drew in a deep breath and took my hand in his, leading me to the entrance to my common room.
"Good night, Mia" he said squeezing my hand gently, before walking away.
