You and me

Part 4 - Christmas

It was Christmas , and Mum and Dad took me to Malfoy Manor to celebrate with our new family.
Narcissa came forward to hug me and then my Mum as we reached.
Lucius Malfoy greeted my father, as Draco watched it all.
Narcissa gave me a beautiful silver necklace with a big oval emarald pendent, as a Christmas present. It was so beautiful all I could do was stare at it in awe.

I remained quiet the whole time, that Narcissa asked Draco to take me out for a stroll.
Draco and I walked around their garden, and suddenly Draco said "I see that you are not happy"
"And why should I be?" I asked sulking.
"Because you are going to be a part of the Malfoy family !" he said proudly.  "And you get me"
"Seriously Draco" I began, rolling my eyes at him. " Why should I be glad about that?"
He looked at me, clearly annoyed.
"You are mean to my friends, you call them names, you bully people !" I said. "And we are not even friends, Draco !"
"So?"
"Why are you being so mean ?!"
"Are you being nice here ? You are always ready to rip my head off if at all I come near you !"
I looked at Draco. He was looking at me in a puzzled manner.
" I dont like your loser Gryffindor friends. Thats true. " he said "But you are different."
"Mother says I should be your best friend" His voice was barely audible as he said that. " But you are not giving me a chance ! You hate me because they hate me ! "
"Draco -" I wanted to say something, but the boy had no intention of stopping.
"I was glad that you visited me at the hospital when I was hurt" He said. "But the next day you were again behaving like Im some monster !"
"You were flirting with Pansy !!" I growled.
" Was not !" he fought back . "I dont even like her !"
"Really? Is that why you enjoyed her fussing over you ?"
"Who doesnt like some attention ?"
"Im going back in, Draco"I said. "You can go have all her attention."
" If you are so jealous, why dont you do something about it !" Draco argued.
"Im not JEALOUS !" I said in almost a screech. " Draco, this isnt getting us anywhere"
"Ok. Lets forget all that" said Draco. "Lets be friends"
He held out his hand for me to shake.
"Is this another one if your tricks ?" I asked cautiously.
"Nope"
He looked genuine enough.
"Alright then"
I shook his hand.
"I knew you would be a handful" he commented with a smirk.
"Dont you start now, Draco Malfoy" I warned as we walked back in.
