As I had thought, Draco ignored me when back at school. And I wasnt sure if any of his friends knew about the new arrangement.
Hermione and Ginny looked at me with wide eyes when I told them about the betrothal.
"MIA" squeaked Hermione "How could you"
"There was nothing I could do " I said "Im done for it "
"Dont BROOD ! " Ginny said. "See what you can do about it now"
"Hes going to make life hell for me ! Mum and Dad are under his charm. They love him" I whined.
"But, why would they have Draco marry a Gryffindor girl ? I really dont get it " said Hermione, thoughtfully.
"I dont know, I thought about it too" I said. "All my family has been Slytherins for a long long time, its just me. And Mum says Im a pureblood, so nothing else matters"
"I think Lucius Malfoy is upto something" Hermione concluded.

We were in class the other day, Snape going on and on with his lecture. I was trying to listen, but I was distracted by the fact that Draco chose to sit just behind me with sidekick Blaise. It made me extremely self conscious. And he was playing with my hair.
I felt him tugging at my long ponytail, mummering random things. I swatted his hand away, giving him my most rude look, and turned to see Snape giving me a  very unpleasent glare. I planned to give him a piece of my mind just after class, but before I could he had escaped.
At transfiguration class, he went on to sent origami birds flying to me, so many times that I had to finally throw a book at him to make him stop.
He went on fooling around and showing off, and at Care of magical creatures class,  he got attacked by Hagrid's hippogrif. And honestly, I wouldnt blame it. He did give out such vibes.
"I think you should go and visit him" Ginny told me when no one was listening. "He is your fiance after all"
I thought about it for a while, and finally agreed.

I walked to the Hospital Wing, and peeped in to check who all were there with him. But there was no one.
I saw him lying on one of the beds with his hand in a sling, his face serious.
I went in and sat on the chair beside his bed.
He genuinely looked shocked.
"How are you Draco ?" I asked him.
He shrugged.
"Does it hurt ?"
"A lot"
"Where are all your friends ? I thought I might have to fight a crowd"
Draco shrugged again looking away.
"Why did you come ?" He asked.
"I thought I should" I said, shrugging.
"You dont have to do it if you dont like it" he said with a frown.
"I wanted to, Draco" I said, feeling bad for him.
"Im not going to stop bullying you"
His smirk reappeared.
"I really didnt expect you to"
We had a laugh.
"Being with those bloodtraitors havent made you that bad" he commented.
" Thank you Draco" I said sarcastically.

A few more moments with him, and I really didnt hate him that much anymore. Maybe the betrothal did change him.

I found him in the Great Hall, with his gang and that unbearable girl, Pansy Parkinson the next morning.
He was going on about how bad his wound was, and how much lucky to still have his arm. Pansy purred comforting things to him, making him smirk.
On the second thought, maybe he hasnt changed much. Him flirting with Pansy despite the fact that his future would be with me, kinda iritated me.
It felt unfair.
