Chapter 14

Katie's POV

Next day

So after yesterday's events I got some sleep for today. The girls and I are all terrifyingly nervous. We walked up Simons drive and stared in awe at his house. He came outside and we all cheered.

"Hi girls. Hope you're all having a nice time here in Miami but now we're down to business...today is a really big day for you and all I have to say is good luck! And have fun. But before we start...as you would know I don't make this decision alone...I don't have one helping hand, I actually have two. Girls please can you welcome two of the spice girls..Mel B and Emma Bunton!" He said. We all screeched slightly and clapped as they walked out. After a quick speech from them we got prepared for the performances.

We all sat on sofas on a small patio as Olivia went first.

We could hear her and she was amazing...my nerves began to get worse.

Next was Kayleigh...

Then Gifty

Then Emily

Then Sam.

Moments later though, Sam came back.

"What happened?" Gifty asked.

"He wants me to take my make up off...he thinks I'm hiding behind a mask and wants to see the real me" she explained. We were all shocked and didn't know how to react.

Simon ended up taking a break but when he started again the sun was setting.

By the time I was performing it was already dark.

"Hi" I smiled standing in front of Simon, Mel and Emma.

"Hello" they all replied.

"Katie, would you like to tell the girls why you are here on X factor? Tell them what you told us judges" Simon smiled.

"I'm here to make my family and friends proud but to also prove them wrong. The on,y person who has ever believed in me is my dad...no one ever has and my family have never supported this. I wanna prove them wrong. I wanna make my dad proud" I explained. Mel and emma were smiling.

"What are you gonna sing?" Mel asked.

"Run by Leona Lewis" I answered.

I sang the song as good as I can and when I finished Mel was crying and Emma and Simon were smiling.

"Thank you Katie" Simon smiled. I thanked them and walked away, over to Dermott.

"Sounded amazing" he said hugging.

"Thank you, I just hope it was enough" I chuckled nervously.

"It's just that 24 hour wait now" he said making me laugh.

After talking to Dermott I went to the girls and they attacked me in a hug.

"You were amazing" Caitlyn told me. I smiled.

"Thank you"

Another hour went by and we left to the hotel. We all went into our rooms. Gifty was on her bed scrolling through her phone so I decided to get some fresh air by going on the balcony.

I rested my hands on the side and just looked ahead of me at the sea, letting the cold breeze make my hair go crazy. Seconds later I heard the door to the balcony shut. I turned around and saw it was Roman who closed it. He came over and stood behind me, sliding his arms around my waist. He kissed my cheek then rested his head on my shoulder.

"I'm scared" was all I said quietly.

"Of what?" He asked in the same volume.

"Tomorrow" I replied.

"Why?" He whispered.

"This is all I've ever wanted since I was a little girl. And to be this close...I don't want to go home. My dad is the only person who believes in me. My mum, brothers, sister, they don't care. They don't support me. I want to prove them wrong. And if I go home...I'll feel like a failure. But I also started thinking earlier...if I go home, what's gonna happen to us?" I said not even realising I was crying. He hugged me tightly, calming me down.

"We'll figure things out. I won't be letting go of you so easily" he said rubbing my back. I wiped my tears.

"What are you doing here any ways?" I asked making him laugh.

"What? I can't come and see my girlfriend?" He chuckled.

"Fair enough" I responded. He leaned in and gave me a kiss, it was long and sweet and lasted about ten seconds.

"I better get going" he said as we pulled away.

"Yea, I'll see you tomorrow" I said. We walked back into the hotel room and he walked towards the door.

"Bye Gifty" he replied.

"See ya Roman" she said. He winked at me then closed the door behind him.

I turned around and saw Gifty smirking. I rolled my eyes and threw a pillow at her causing her to laugh.
