The little nap, I took with Riley yesterday lasted a lot longer then I thought it was going to be. I slept the whole night with her and she is still sleeping. Like an angel. I smile I trace her cheek with my fingers.
"Drew?" She whispers and I snort lightly.
"Yeah?" I answer and a big smile comes on her beautiful smile. Then she laid her hand on my hip and move it all the way up to touch my cheek. I close my eyes of her softness.
"Touching you is the only way I can see you." She whispers and I watch her keeping her eyes closed. I smile of her warm words.
"Riley?" I take her hand and lay over her.
"Can I please, please see your eyes? It would mean the world to me if you did." I beg her, but the smile on her face fades slowly.
"I said no, Drew." She says annoyed.
"But..."
"Drew, stop just stop there is nothing to look at!" She says her voice raised with fury.
"Riley..."
"No," She pushes me off and I fall down to the floor.
"Get out!" She shouts as I stand on my feet, but I am frozen. It felt like as if someone stabbed a knife through my heart.
"NOW!" She yells and I stumble out the door and I feel like I am choking on my own heart.
"What is going on?" Devin asks as I come down the stairs.
"I-I... she... I..."
"Breathe, Drew." Devin says as she laid her hand on my back and I take a deep breath.
"I did something stupid." I explain and feel a tear go down my cheek. Devin clenches her teeth and I see the anger in her eyes.
"What did you do?" She asks, trying to sound calm, but she struggles.
"I asked if I could see her eyes, but," I take away the tear from my cheek.
"She gets angry every time I ask." I tell her as I rub my eye. Devin seems a little confused right now, but shake it off.
"I know, she is very sensitive when it comes to her eyes. Andi and I have told her since the day we found out that she couldn't see that her eyes are beautiful, which is true," She smiles, but then goes away quickly.
"Then one day we were at a store, she was only six years old and this asshole said that she should use sunglasses, because her eyes makes people uncomfortable. God, if it was not for Andi and Riley being there I would have punched him in a second." She takes a deep breath to calm herself down.
"After that she asked for sunglasses and has had them on ever since. Her eyes are beautiful, she just don't believe us, because we are her parents." Devin rolls her eyes and I give an apologetic smile.
"She is very beautiful." I tell Devin, who smile of my words and nod.
"Since she could talk all she talked about was wishing to see. She dreamed about it for years, but she does not speak about it anymore. It makes us a little worried." Devin says and I nod sadly, by the fact that all Riley wants is to see.
"I-I should probably go. I don't want her to be angrier." I tell and Devin nods with a smile.
"Okay," She says and I find my way to the door.
"I see you later, Drew." She tells.
"Bye, Drew!" Andi yells from the kitchen making Devin roll her eyes.
"Bye." I smile as I step out the door and find my way down to my car to drive home.
"Hi, honey." Mom smiles as I come into the kitchen.
"Hi." I say as I look through the fridge to find something to eat. Since Riley threw me out of her house.
"When are we going to meet that girlfriend of yours?" Mom asks me and I shut the fridge as I find out I don't have any appetite.
I look at my mom, thoughtful. Riley and I have been together for a little over two months and still I haven't said one word about her to my parents.
Except that I have a girlfriend. The last times I told them that I have gotten myself a girl, it's been awkward. I mean they don't know how to act. I like this girl way too much for them to ruin it.
"I-I don't know." I shrug, because it is true. Devin doesn't want me to take her with me to my place. Very over protective, but to be honest, I don't mind and it's an excuse for my parents that Riley can't come here.
"Okay." She smiles sadly and I step out of the kitchen and up to find my room to lay down in my bed.
Thinking about what an idiot I was today. I shouldn't have done what I did. I knew she hated that I asked all the time, but all I wish is to see her eyes.
That stupid guy should not have said what he did. He ruined Riley's confidence. The one that her parents have probably tried to build up from the day she was born. If it was not for him, then I might have seen her pretty eyes by now.
