I can't wait to tell Olivia the good news today. I have been excited for the whole week. Now Riley is getting dressed in the bathroom while I am lying in her bed, staring at the roof thinking about how and when to tell Olivia. She deserves Becca more than anything, and maybe all of this fighting would end.
"I hope..."
"Oh god! Don't scare me that much." I say and take a deep breathe. Then turn to look at the beautiful girl.
"Sorry," She chuckles as I step out of the bed and take her hand in mine.
"I was going to say. I hope it is okay, I just wear jeans?" She asks.
"Of course," I smile as I lean down to kiss her forehead.
"We are just going to be there for a short time and beside you, look wonderful no matter what." I tell her, watching how her cheeks go from the natural color to the shade of red. I step back and take her hand in mine.
"Let's go."
My girl is following me, holding my arm as we step up to the noisy house that belongs to my good friend. She is going to get a hell of a day today. Knowing that the girl she has had a crush on like forever actually has one for her as well, but she needs to be careful.
I mean, it's Becca we are talking about. She might get defensive and very angry, but I bet Olivia knows how to place Becca's feet back down on the ground.
"Are you okay?" Riley asks worried.
"Yeah, why?" I ask and lean down to kiss her temple.
"You are shaking." She explains, still concerned.
"Oh, it might be because I am excited to tell Olivia." I say to her and she smiles to me. I stop and tell Riley that we are going to walk up some stairs. I place my hand over hers and we step up together.
Then I open the door and automatically I look for a way to go with Riley. It's full of people here and I kind of knew in advance that I have to keep Riley on my arm the whole night. Not that I mind, at all, because then I know where she is and who is talking to her.
I don't want some asshole to use her. Riley is most likely the youngest in here. I don't think there is any other than seniors here. We walk through the crowd and find Olivia, with her head low and a sad expression on her face, which is starting to get very normal when it comes to her. Then she turns and when she sees us a smile comes on her face.
"Hi guys."
"Hi." Riley and I say at the same time. She smiles to me and I smile back to her. I know she can't see it, but I would like her to know that I smile all the time because of her.
"What's wrong?" I ask. Olivia sighs and then just point out the other door in the kitchen. I see Becca sitting on her boyfriend's lap while she is talking to Hannah. I turn back to Olivia, who has a strong drink in her hand. I take it out of her hand and pour it out in the sink.
"Hey, I needed that." She says angrily.
"Not as much as you need her." I point at Becca.
"I can't have her." Olivia says annoyed and then starts making another drink, but I take the bottle out of her hand.
"Yes, you can." I say determined as I place the damn bottle next to me, so she won't take it again.
"She likes you, Riley has noticed." I smile as I look at my girl. I ask her to explain and she does.
"No, she hates me." Oliva says, shaking her head, her eyes so full of sadness as if the only thing she can see is the world on fire.
"Olive, she is probably too scared to tell it to anyone, including herself. That's the way she is using Daniel as a shield." I explain her, but she just shakes her head. I clench my teeth in annoyance of how stubborn she is.
