Changing the Time

CHAPTER FOUR - STARTING OVER

"How many kids do you want to have?" I asked Evan from our nonstop talking after we got in the house.

"As much as my wife will let me." He says as I start laughing Kelly wacks him. I laugh even harder I missed him so much I didn't even realize. Kelly and even started laughing too.

Eli and Kate were listening in but we were all playing the question game we just kinda forgot that we were playing for about 20 minutes. Eli and I played the question game all the time when we were dating and while we weren't he called me a lot.

I take a breath that I'd been holding for awhile "Kenzie you there?" Eli says moving a hand in front of my eyes. "Oh yeah sorry," I mumble, "I was just thinking about stuff."

"My turn and I want to know what you were thinking about?" Eli says waiting for a good answer.

I think about how I'm going to phrase this to make it sound not wrong. "Well I was thinking about how we used to talk all the time." I answered and he smiles.

"The good old days!" Eli loudly says and I look up at Kate who isn't fazed. "BTW IT'S NOT MY TURN NO WAY NOT AGAIN!" I say making sure that everyone gets my point across, they all knew that they were only choosing me.

I take a breather and Kate interrupts "What was your supposed one world say about me?" Kate asked curiously, you could tell that she had been holding this one back for awhile.

"You liked Eli you weren't dating you'd actually gotten rejected by him and you we were great friends still you were all about boys." I answered calmly to not include anything I shouldn't.

"Well I'm dating Eli now." she says grinning flirtatiously at him and Eli shuffled almost uncomfortably.

"What was I like?" Eli asked quickly after Kate's comment. "You were something, you made everyone laugh it was like you were magic sometimes, other times you were dirty, flirtatious, and the most outgoing person I've ever met." I smile looking him in the eyes as if he was clueless of this.

Eli looked clueless and didn't speak.

"What was I like because I've heard crap?" Evan said and I looked at him for a moment.

"This might sound weird but we were best friends you broke up with Kelly saying you were better friends and later told her it was because of me. You ended up liking me but I rejected you. After that you shunned me wouldn't let me talk to you ever." I look down afraid of what he was going to say.

"I don't even know what to say about that." Evan sighs scratching his head.

"What do you mean you don't know," Kelly starts.

"It means that that couldn't be true right?" Evan said to me looking me in the eyes trying to believe it himself.

"UH... right I guess not.." I say kinda speechless.

"Since everyone else asked.." She softly says.

"Kelly, you and I were great friends I talked to you about all sorts of drama and you always had something to say. As i said the Evan thing went out of proportion and he ended up blocking both of us but you guys ended up being friends again but you didn't like to deal with him, I always told you that you still liked him and you used to yell at me and I would laugh-" I started and then I decided to stop.

Kelly looks at me suprised "this was a very descriptive dream." She says starting to think.

"Well again it's not my turn for a few more rounds at least so someone ask someone else a question," I say forcing a smile.

Eli keeps looking at me and so does Evan it's like their eyes are burning me. I look at Kelly and she's burning her eyes into Evan but Kate seems fine way to fine.

The boys and Kelly leave finally. Kate and I wave from the porch, Kate had invited me to spend the night. We walked back in the house and warmth surrounded me once again.

"I feel what you feel that we were good friends..." she says softly.

"You do?" I shockingly say  grabbing onto Kate. She smiles at me "I-I think we can be friends again..." she says shyly.

I smile at her as I hug her "I have to tell you something though.." She whispers in my ear. I let go of her and wait for her to say what she has to.

"I'm pregnant..."
