Changing the Time

CHAPTER SIX - WHAT THE ACTUAL HECK

My eyes open as I realize what time it is. NINE!!!
I SHAKE KATE AWAKE AND POINT TO THE TIME. We hurry and put some clothes on and rush to school.

We had to run to school, cus Taylor left without us. We got a pass from the office and went to art.

I rush over to the table Eli was at with Kelly. Kate and I sit down after giving the pass to the teacher. Kate looks at Eli intensely as if the devil was inside of him. I saw Kate's face turn as green as a frog.

"Kate your face?" I ask concerned pointing to my face.

"I'm-" as she vomits all over her boyfriend and he looks at her wide eyed. "What the actual fuck!" He yells as she looks terrified. "Kate you've been giving me hell for weeks and now you do this are you serious!" He yells storming out of the classroom.

Kate's eyes become watery as I go out of the classroom.

"ELI!" I yell as him and he turns around as we look at each other.
"What do you want?" Eli  asks crossing his arms.
"What is with you and Kate?" I ask harshly going up to him and pushing him.

"You know what's up." He said coming closer and I push him away.
"I really don't.." I whisper.
"You know I'm still in love with you," Eli states tucking my hair underneath my ear "and don't you forget it."

My eyes widened as I was caught up in the moment I held my breath as he leaned in and I stepped away realizing. Eli you can't do this.
"You just need to remember what I've always thought of you.." He sighs running his hands through his hair as he storms off. But then he turns back around and heads over to me and pauses.

He leans in "you can't kiss me Eli." I whisper dryly

"That's what you said at the park with Kate that one day." Eli said.

As he kisses my cheek.
And as fast as a bullet he disappears.

I blink 3 times to realize that what I just saw was clear. Kate comes out of the room and hugs me "did you talk to him?" She asks.

"Uh... No he sped off before I could." I lied.

"I hope he's not to mad about it by the way why do you smell like puke it's like it hit you and it didn't?"  Kate asks, "never mind I'm being to ugh about it."

She grabs me and leads me back into the classroom for another few minutes of guilt. Why would Eli even do that to Kate. He's Supposably always been in love with me, what about Kate.

My mouth goes dry when the bell rings and I rush to the science room before Kate try's to ask me something or telling me anything. Before I got the someone latched onto me, Deven "hey babe." He said.

"Didn't I make it obvious that we can't date I'm like so sorry but we can't and I'm going through things right now." I say trying to sum it up for him. He kisses me on the cheek Eli kissed me on. "Why do you taste like puke are you sick or something?" He asks touching my forehead.

"Umm no?" I ask pretending to be confused. "Okay..." He says waiting for a moment before walking away.

He doesn't remember the nights I remember. I sigh taking a deep breath some days he doesn't know and only I know.

I think about all the crazy shit that went down and didn't talk to anyone.

The teacher talked the whole period as I zoned out and I went to the hallway.

"Hey." Evan said leaning against the locker as he took a deep breath.
"Are you having a hard day too?" I asked .
"Yeah..." He stutters and he looks at me.
"I know I would never say this on a normal day or anything but do you want to skip?" I asked him as he nodded. I grabbed his hand and ran down the stairs following. I opened to the school door "Kenzie slow down!" He yelled from what seemed like far away. I run to the path we usually run but it was late October so we didn't run down there at this time of year.

I let go of his hand and I stuff my hands in my pocket. "What's wrong with you?" Ethan breaths out.

"Well I'll just say that Deven thought we were dating and I told him no and then Eli did something.." I quietly said.

"Yeah Eli likes you a lot." Evan says looking at me.

I snap my head looking at him, "you knew he liked me and he's dating Kate!" I yelled astonished that he wouldn't tell her.

"It's not like anything bad came out of it." He says shrugging it off.

"YOU DON'T KNOW THAT!" I yell.

"Okay sassy pants be quiet before you get us caught." He says bringing his hand up to my mouth and grabbing me and placing us behind a tree. I try to get free but then I hear a voice "Hello is anyone there!" A rough man's voice comes from the beginning of the path.

"I swear if any of you rotten high school brats are having sex out in my path I'll get you expelled!" The man grumbles.

You hear the man's footsteps go farther away and we wait until you can't hear them at all. Evan let's go of me and I smack him in the shoulder.

"Hey what was that for!" He whispers at me.

"Don't do that again!" I hiss at him pointing at him like he murdered my cat or something.

"Fine let's just walk." He says.

"By the way about the question about what's wrong with me... I broke up with Kelly..." Evan said and we were silent.

I don't even know what to say about that it was starting again.
