chapter 17: puppy love

Love ya Gabs!

"Who's the best dog ever? You are." I cooed to Blaze.

He yipped happily and his cute little tail began to wag.

I figured it was about time I played with Blaze.

I missed my little ball of fur.

I rubbed my hand back and forth on his head and he barked and bit my palm.

His small teeth barely hurt.

"I love you Blaze." I murmured rubbing his side.

The little dog rolled over and panted.

A clear sign to rub his stomach. 

Blaze growled low in his throat and licked my arm.

"Yea buddie? You love me too?" I asked him.

Blaze yipped and licked my arm.

"I'll take that as a yes." Blaze made a dogs version of a laugh.

I smiled lovingly at him.

"I see he isn't mad at you anymore." Blake said stepping outside the house.

"Yeah. It was my fault though. I left and forgot about my new little man." I said ruffling the fur on his stomach.

"He loves you though." Blake cocked his head and sat down next to me.

Blaze growled menisingly and moved from under my hand to growl at Blake.

"Easy there. He's nice." I say pulling his body onto my lap.

Blaze growled at Blake again and turned around on my lap.

I rubbed his back soothingly and Tommy came stumbling outside.

"Blaze Come're boy!" Tommy said clapping his hands for Blaze to come.

Blaze got up and shot off to play with Tommy.

Blake pulled me against his side and tugged me down beside him.

We layed on the grass and watched Tommy and Blaze play.

When the sun began to set I called their attention to it.

"Mommy that's so pretty!" Tommy commented.

I pulled him onto my lap and Blaze ran over too.

We watched the sun set and went back in the house.

As I fell asleep later that night I couldn't help but think;

What if I could have an actual family like this? Only with more kids this time!
