Why is She Broken?

Chapter 6: His Number

Payton and JoJo walk to their next class which is Math. They walk into the classroom and Payton sees Austin. Her heart stops, she stops right in her tracks, right in the middle of a sentence and looks right at him. JoJo looks
at her curious and looks over where Payton is.
"That's Austin, isn't it? I'm going to pound his god damn face in." JoJo says as she starts walking over there.
Payton grabs her arm and looks at her with tears running down her cheeks and shakes her saying no. JoJo calms down and holds Payton's hand and goes to the farthest desk from him. He looks at Payton multiple times and every time he does, Payton has new tears going down and down.
Finally class ended.
Payton and JoJo were the last ones to go out of the class since they both didn't want to run into Austin. They walk down the hall and they see Alex walking towards them. Payton wipes away the tear marks that were on her cheeks. But she keeps her head low.
"Hey you guys. Payton are you okay?"
"Payton just is going through a lot right now, as her best friend I don't want her more upset then she already is."
"Okay, I guess I understand."
  "Understand what?" Says a voice that Payton knows to well.
      Austin.
"Um excuse me. Who are you?" Replies Alex.
"I'm Payton's ex-boyfriend, Austin." He holds out his hand to Alex.
"Um okay. I'm Alex. Are you the one making her upset?" Alex doesn't take his hand.
"Unfortunately yes. I know she is crying because of me, my stupid decisions and stupid friends."
"Austin, leave now." Payton says quietly.
"Why should I?"
"Fucking leave now." She says louder and pushes him.
"Leave before I beat your god damn face in." JoJo backs up Payton.
"Whatever. God damn girls." He says as he walks away.
"Fuck you Austin." Says JoJo.
JoJo turns to Payton and hugs her tightly. Payton starts crying a little and can't stop.
"You guys hate him that much?" Alex says.
"Yes. He broke up with me and dated me for no reason." Payton answered as she starts telling him the whole story.
"Wow. He is a dick. Why would he do that to such a beautiful girl?" Alex says as Payton finishes the story.
  "I'm not beautiful.." Payton replies and looks at her shoes.
"Payton, you are extremely beautiful. Don't let anybody tell you different, got it? The reason I came over here to talk to you guys was to give you my phone number."
"Yo! I'm still here. Don't get all lovey dovey! Am I not beautiful? Do I not get your number?" Exclaimed JoJo.
"JoJo, you are beautiful too. Just not as beautiful as Payton. And you can get my number I guess. " Alex chuckles.
Payton blushes, JoJo gasps, and Alex laughs. Both girls pull out their phones, Alex starts telling them both his number.
They all start walking out of the school together. They all ride the same bus. JoJo gets dropped off first which shows where she lives. Alex and Payton get dropped off, they live only a few houses away from each other. They both
were very happy. They say goodbye and walk away from each other.
Payton goes into her house right into her room. She sits on the floor and cries, she can't stop thinking about Austin. Paisley walks in and she looks at Payton and just walks out. Payton cries even more. They used to be so close, now they barely talk.
