Why is She Broken?

Chapter 2: Her Worse Summer

Payton has had so many bad experiences in her first year of high school. She had her first ever boyfriend. His name is Austin, he was a boy version of her.  Only he had a lot of friends. They dated throughout her Freshmen and Sophomore year. They were with each other all the time. They would help each other and do anything the other wanted.
In the summer of her Junior year he texted her.
       "Hey Pay, can I talk to you?"
       "Yeah, sure. Is everything okay?"
       "Um, I don't know how to say this."
       "Just tell me Austin. I can take it."
       "When I asked you out, I really didn't mean it. My friends dared me too."
       "So you never actually liked me?"
       "No I didn't at first, then I fell in love. I'm not feeling that way anymore."
       "So are you breaking up with me?"
       "Yes I am. I'm so sorry Pay."
       "It's okay I guess. We dated for so long. Paisley was right."
       "What do you mean? What did she say?"
       "You never cared about me and you never really loved me."
     Before he replied she shut her phone off and cried herself to sleep.
