*Two Weeks Later – Aisling’s POV*

I was flipping through channels when something caught my eyes; a picture of Hunter. It was one of those celebrity news channels. Curious, I listened to the reporter.

“Now onto our newest story,” the woman spoke. “Country star Hunter Hayes is suing his tour manager.” My jaw dropped open. “Hayes does not believe they are a fit and is currently in the process of getting their contract voided. No other information has been disclosed about this issue. Once we here more, we will be back.”

Hunter is suing Lance? Well, it’s about time he tried to get rid of that bastard. But why couldn’t he just fire him? The news lady said something about his contract…Should I call him just to check up on him? No, he won’t want to talk to me. Will he? I mean, it’s wouldn’t kill to call…

Before I changed my mind, I picked up my phone and dialed his number. It rang and rang and just as I was about to hang up, he answered.

“Aisling, is that you?” he asked.

“Yeah, it’s me…” I meekly replied.

“How are you?”

“I’m doing alright. And yourself?” I wondered. Wow, this is really awkward. I never thought it would turn into this…

“I’m…okay I guess. Why did you call? Do you need something?”

“No, um, I was actually just calling to check up on you,” I admitted.

“Check up on me?” he questioned, curious.

“Yeah, I just heard on the news that you’re suing Lance.”

“Oh, uh, yeah. I figured out that he’s a real asshole. And there are quite a few reasons behind that, one of them including you. I actually need to tell you something Ais…”

“Let’s not do this right now Hunter. I was just calling to check up on you.”

“Please Aisling; I really need to talk to you. I can’t let this go on like this.”

“Go on like what?” I pretty much screamed through the receiver.

“Go on with you thinking I really wanted to break up with you. I didn’t! It was all Lance! He made up a story to make you upset. He wanted this to happen and right now, knowing that we’re not together is making him the happiest person in the world. It was all a scheme to separate us,” he explained.

“How do I know you’re not lying?”

“Come to my show in a week and you’ll know I’m not lying. I’m coming to Breaux Bridge so you know where to find me. I’ll put your name on the list and I’ll reserve a seat for you. You better be there.”
