*Aisling’s POV*

I woke in the morning to the sound of whispering. I sat up in bed, clutching the sheet to my chest. It sounded like Matt and Hunter were speaking.

“Are you glad she’s back?” Matt asked.

“I couldn’t be happier, man. I just wish I didn’t have to leave her again,” Hunter replied.

“Who says you have to? Now that Lance is taken care of, you can bring her back out on tour with us.”

“Lance is taken care of?” I yelled through the door.

Hunter opened the door and shut it behind him, smiling at me. He handed me the mug he had in his hand and sat next to me in bed.

“He was taken care of this week. We’re getting our new tour manager in a couple of days,” he told me.

“That’s awesome!” I scream, accidentally spilling my coffee all over the white sheets. “Oh my god, Hunter, I’m sorry! I’ll wash them…”

“Don’t worry about it babe,” he winked, kissing my forehead. “They need to be cleaned anyways. Why don’t you go shower while I clean this up?”

I blushed and grabbed the top sheet, wrapping it around me.

“Utuh. Where do you think you’re going with that sheet? I need to throw it in the laundry.”

“But Hunter! I’m naked!”

He smirks. “So?”

I quickly threw it at him and rushed to the bathroom to shower. After I finished, I got dressed and joined everyone in the living room. The guys attacked me in a hug, making me laugh.

“Alright, alright, we get it, you missed her. But get off before she dies!” Hunter ordered.

They let go and I tucked myself into his side. He kissed the top of my head.

“Are you glad to be back Aisling?” Devo questioned.

“I couldn’t be happier,” I responded, looking up at Hunter and smiling.

“So did you like the new song?” Sam asked.

“Oh my god, I loved it!” I exclaimed.

“Good because we worked our asses off learning it this week. I never thought Hunter was going to let us out of practice. Not even to pee!”

I looked at Hunter with my eyebrows raised, disapproval obvious. He rubbed the back of his neck and shrugged.

“I wanted it to be perfect for last night. I couldn’t screw up and ruin my chances of getting you back,” he told me.

“That’s still no excuse for driving your crew to work so hard they nearly topple over,” I said. “Now why don’t you guys relax while I make a nice lunch for y’all?”

“Now THIS is what I missed,” Matt chuckled, licking his lips and sitting at the kitchen table.

“It’ll be a little while, so why don’t you go watch some TV?” I suggested.

“Alright, but you better call me when it’s ready!”

“Will do!”

I turned around and began to pull things out of their small fridge and freezer. They had some bacon wrapped steaks that I wanted to cook up and I found some potatoes at the bottom of the fridge that still looked good. I decided to make garlic mashed potatoes as a side along with some of my homemade mac and cheese.

As I cooked I listened to the guys horse around in the living room area. The TV was going, playing some stupid sports game. A smile graced my face. This is what I missed. Hanging out with my best friend and my boyfriend, cooking dinner and taking care of them like I used to. I never realized how much I enjoyed doing this until I hadn’t done it for quite a while.

I jumped and practically threw a potato across the room when I felt arms wrap around my waist. I instantly relaxed when Hunter’s familiar scent surrounded me. He nuzzled his head into my neck and kissed my clavicle.

“I love this sight,” he breathed.

“What sight would that be?” I wondered, curious.

“The sight of my woman cooking.”

I turned around, hands on my hips. “Are we going to have to go through this again? Just because I’m a woman doesn’t mean I just do womanly jobs.”

“I know, I know. You taught me that lesson a long time ago when I tried to keep you from doing your chores.”

I whirled back around and continued to peel potatoes. “That’s right. And I will not let you think I am inferior.”

“Baby, you know that I don’t for a minute think you are inferior to me. I love you.”

“I love you too,” I said, spinning to give him a quick kiss and then going straight back to cooking.

“So…” He went silent.

“So what?”

“We’re leaving tomorrow for another show and, uh, I was just kind of wondering what you wanted to do.”

“Whatever you want me to do.”

“I’d love it if you’d join us for the rest of the tour.”

I smiled to myself. “I’d love to join you on the rest of the tour,” I replied quietly.

He kissed the side of my head. “Good. Now I’ll leave you alone while you finish dinner,” he said.

“Yeah, you do that. Shoo!” I ordered, turning around to slap him in the butt.

I giggled while he raised his eyebrows at me and then continued to walk away. This is the life.
