Chapter 29

~Nia P.O.V~
It's now Friday and Lucas left Monday and I still haven't talked to him. It's like now he got me confused because I don't know why I haven't heard from him. He's not answering my calls or nothing.

My brother said he talked to him when he arrived in New York. So now I'm not even gone sweat it.

I didn't feel like going to school today because it's that time of the month and I got cramps. I just wanna lay in bed all day.

I was watching Netflix on my laptop and eating. My room door was close and the lights was off. It was just how I liked it. I was deep off in the movie when my phone started ringing. I looked and saw it was Lucas so I just let it ring.

Then it started ringing again and I answered.

"What?!" I said into the phone.

"Don't answer the phone like that but why you didn't answer the phone"

"Because you been answering everybody calls except for mine. You didn't even come see me before you left"

"I didn't wanna tell you goodbye"

"Why not?" I asked confused.

"Because I wasn't ready to say that yet"

"Well don't do that no more"

We talked on the phone for about three hours then he had to go. Now I don't have nobody to talk to.

I went downstairs to the kitchen and saw my dad talking to somebody.

"Hey dad" I said hugging him.

"Hey baby, this is Quan"

"Yea I know her"

"Yea he helped me when my car ran out of gas"

"Well good because he gone be watching after you at school" He said and I nodded.

After my dad left the kitchen it was just me and Quan.

"So wassup with you?" He asked me trying to start a conversation.

"Look I don't wanna talk to you" I said rolling my eyes.

"What I do?"

"Nothing I.. nothing"

I made me a good sandwich with some chips and a Sprite on the side. I went to my room to get my phone and came back and saw Quan eating my sandwich.

"QUAN REALLY" I yelled making him jump.

"What?" He said laughing but I didn't find anything funny.

"That's not funny I said stomping off. I really don't got time to be playing. I decided to go get me something to eat.

NIA" Quan yelled as I got in the car but I just ignored him.

I drove to In-N-Out and went inside. I ordered the double double meal and waited for my order. As I got my food I saw Adrianna and some of her friends.

"AYE BITCH" She yelled but I kept walking.

"AYE BITCH I KNOW YOU HEAR ME" She yelled again but this time she grabbed me.

"IM NOT A BITCH AND CAN YOU LEAVE ME THE FUCK ALONE"

"BIT-

"HOE DIDN'T SHE SAY LEAVE HER ALONE" Quan yelled.

When did he get here? How did he know I was here?

"Oo boy you so fine but Nia you really a hoe. I can't wait to tell Lucas that you cheating on him" She said walking away with her friends.

"How did you get here?"

"I followed you"

"I don't need no damn security guard I can handle myself"

"Well it looked like they was about to jump your ass again so you might want to thank me that I came" He said getting in his car and I rolled my eyes.

I got in my car and drove home. Me and Quan arrived at the same time.  We walked to the door and I opened the door. As I got in I closed the door in his face.

I went in the kitchen and sat at the island and ate. I scrolled on Instagram as I ate.

Moments later Quan came in mugging me.

"You hella rude" He said.

"Okay. Problem?"

"I should eat your food again"

"I will beat your ass if you try"

He got a couple of my fries and ran. He gets on nerves with his ugly ass.

After I got through eating I went up to my room.

1 month later....

Its now November and me and Quan became friends. At first he was annoying then some how we just became friends.

I miss Lucas so much we haven't seen each other in a month. We face time every night but that's not enough.

It was now Sunday night and I was just in my room staring at the ceiling. I heard my room door open and close and saw it was Quan coming in.

"What's wrong with you?" I asked him since he was looking mad.

"I just found out that my mom have breast cancer" He said sitting down next to me.

"Aw Quan it's gone be okay. I'm here for you" I said hugging him.

"Ya know that's what everybody say but I'm scared that it's not gone be okay. I don't wanna lose my momma because if I lose my momma then I won't be the same anymore" He said with tears coming down his eyes.

"Quan you gotta be strong for your mom even though it's hard but that's what you gotta do"

"I don't know Nia I never been in this type of situation before"

"All you gotta do is be strong and think positive. If you know that your mom can beat it then don't let nothing negative get in the way"

"Thank you Nia" He said sitting up and looking in my eyes.

We looked in each other and
