Carter's POV:

"Ok... and where was Niall from... if he was a foreign exchange student?" Harry asked.

"Niall Horan, was from Ireland... and last I knew he decided to stay in America. I think he moved there once he graduated... but like I said, that's just the last I heard." I sigh, talking about Niall wasn't that easy but, somehow Harry made it so much easier. "Well, then tell me about Samantha." Harry whispered.

A huge smile spreads across my face at the mention of my baby. She makes me so proud. "Well, she's going to be three in a couple of weeks... and she is really excited about Halloween, she doesn't even care about her birthday." I laugh.

Harry's POV:

I could see how proud Carter was of her daughter, Samantha as she talked about her. Samantha seemed like a great girl and like she had a lot of personality at such a young age. Carter told me how Samantha walked, crawled, talked early and she is very smart. I knew that she was right and that she wasn't just one of those mums that think their baby is a genius. I saw Samantha the other day, it was very brief but she did speak quite clearly for such a young age. I didn't get to see her close, so I don't know if Carter and her look alike but that doesn't really matter. Carter is a good mother, I can tell by the way she talks about Samantha. Seeing Carter take so much pride in Samantha and seeing her so happy while talking about her makes me really happy. I don't think I have ever heard Carter talk about anything with so much love.

"Would you like to meet her?" Carter asks, breaking me out of my thoughts. I honestly wasn't expecting that. I didn't think Carter would want me to meet Samantha yet, since I only just found out about her. I really would like to meet Samantha... but I'm kind of nervous... what if she doesn't like me? Oh, well I can't be a baby. "Yeah, I would love to!" I said truthfully... hopefully Samantha will like me. "Really?" Carter asks, with surprise and excitement clear on her face. I nod my head while laughing at her excitement. She is just so cute. "Ok, one second... let me call Louis." Carter says while grabbing her phone.

Carter picks up her phone and touches the screen several times before placing the device to her ear. I can only hear one side of the conversation, but I pretty much understand what they're talking about. "Hey Louis, Can you bring Sam back to the house?...... OK, Thank you!" Carter says.

"They'll be here soon." Carter says to me while hanging up on her cousin. I smile at her and nod, she is just so beautiful and I can't help but feel incredibly close to her, now that I know her story. "Would you like to help me start dinner?" She asks me. I smile and nod again. "Absolutely." She smiles back at me and giggles. We started cooking her and Samantha's dinner. "Would you like to stay for dinner, Harry?" Carter asks me. "Oh uh, you don't have to do that..." I awkwardly spoke. "No really, I want you to stay!" She said sincerely. I kind of wanted her to keep repeating 'I want you to stay' It sounded so beautiful leaving her lips and the fact that she was saying it to me made it so much better.

I blushed, though I fought it for as long as I could. "Well, alright. I would love to... if it's no bother..." She giggled and shook her head. I smiled at her adorableness. I was helping her make dinner, I was her... assistant in the kitchen, I guess you could say. I wasn't really helping much and if anything I was being a bother. I was throwing food at her and messing up  her instructions... on purpose so that she would have to show me how. We were only just getting started when her front door opened and voices filled the house.

The same little girl that I saw yesterday came running into the kitchen. She was obviously Samantha. She looked just like Carter too, aside from her bright blue eyes... Niall must have blue eyes. I wonder how much Samantha looks and acts like Niall... probably not that much, since she looks so much like Carter. "Ey, Carter! I put Sam's car seat back into your car, ok?" A male's voice yells through Carter's home. That must be her cousin, Louis.

Louis walks into the kitchen and notices me right away, just as I notice him right away. Carter's cousin, Louis is the same Louis that is Zayn's friend and co worker. I am surprised to see him, it honestly surprises me, that he is the same guy. The few times I've met Louis he was very nice, I just never really saw him as the I'll-look-after-your-baby type. He looks shocked to see me and I'm sure my face mirrors his. I put my hand out to shake his and he snaps out of putting the pieces together, just like I had a second ago. He leans in and shakes my hand. We smile at each other. "Nice to see you mate. How do you know Carter?" Louis asks me. I smile at him while shaking his hand. "Carter and I are friends, we go to school together." I explain. He smiles and says they're cousins, but I already know that. "Do the two of you know each other?" Carter asks us.

"No, I just greet strangers like this." Louis says to Carter sarcastically. I can't help the laugh that escapes my lips. Carter glares at me and then motions for us to explain how we know each other. "Louis works with Zayn... They're good friends, he comes by our flat often." I explain to a confused Carter. She smiles and nods.

"That's cool. Louis, would you like to stay for dinner?" Carter says. Louis smiles at her, then politely declines her offer. "I would love to, but I'm actually going to a party with Liam, so I'm gonna go." Louis says. "Alright." Carter says. We all say goodbye to Louis and a second later he is out the door. Carter bends down to her daughter and whispers to her. "Sammi, this is Harry. Harry, this is Sammi." She introduces.

"You're the angry boy at the door the other day." Samantha spoke in a baby voice. I smiled at her and nodded. "Yeah, that's me. But, I'm not angry anymore." I smiled at her while I was bent down in front of her, trying to get eye level with the young girl. Samantha's face lightens up immediately and her mouth displays a sweet and wide smile. "You wanna play with me?" She asks me. I look to Carter for permission, and Carter smiles and nods. "Dinner will be ready in a little bit." Carter says.

Samantha immediately grabs my hand and pulls me into their living room, with surprising strength. I can't help but notice just how small she is and yet how intelligent she is also. Samantha runs over to, what seems to be her toy box and lifts up a costume. "This my Halloween costume. I love Halloween, I excited." Samantha says, leaving out a few words in her sentence. I play with Samantha and all of her toys until Carter tells us that dinner is ready. I feel kind of bad for not helping Carter with dinner, but I was getting to know Samantha better, which I am very happy about and I think Carter is too. Besides, even if I was helping her with dinner, I wouldn't really be helping all that much.

Once the three of us are seated at the dinner table, we all immediately start laughing at something one of us said, and it pretty much goes like that during the entire time we are eating dinner. I'm having a great time and I think that Samantha and Carter are too. I really like Carter's cooking and this food tastes amazing. Samantha and I seem to have hit it off right away. I really think that Samantha is a great little girl, and I am so glad she took a liking to me just as I took a liking to her. We seem to just get along naturally and that is so cool.

I was very nervous about meeting Samantha at first, I really wanted her to like me, and I just wanted to get along with Carter's daughter. But, now that I'm here and I have been with Samantha for a little while, I just feel like myself around her... just like when I'm around Carter. Samantha seemed to like me right away. And I am so glad. We have a great dinner filled with laughter and talking and it just generally goes well. "Mom... Mummy. Can Hawwy come with us on Halloween?" Samantha asks Carter with a baby voice. She mispronounces half the words she says but she actually speaks well for her age. "That's up to Harry. Ask him." Carter says while she washes some of the dishes from dinner.

Samantha looks up at me and bats her blue eyes. I can't even help but smile. "I would love to go with you and Carter, Samantha." I smile down at the little girl. She gasps and smiles at me. She starts jumping up and down in excitement, her brown pig tails bounce as she jumps. She screams in a high pitch voice, which in the last hour I have learned that she does when she is happy or excited. Carter and I laugh at Samantha's excitement.
