Zayn's POV:
"It's crazy how close Harry and Carter have got, huh?" Louis asks me. We were on break at work just chillin' and talking. "I guess, but I think they've always been close, they're just hanging out a lot more, now that Harry knows about Sam." I speak slowly as I take a long drag from my cigarette. Louis nods his head at me as he exhales a breath of smoke. "Well I'm happy for them..." Louis trails off in a raspy voice. "Definitely." I agree as I trap the smoke in my lungs. "So, did Carter and Liam ever date?" I asked Louis after a brief moment of silence.
"No. Never." Louis said as he dropped the butt of the cigarette he had just smoked and squished it under his vans. "Do you think Harry will ever hurt Carter? Like break her heart, if they were to ever start dating?" Louis asks me after a moment of hesitation. "They will definitely be dating soon, since Harry asked Carter on that date and she said yes, but no, Harry would never hurt anyone. Especially Carter. He adores her and Sam." I spoke slowly and coolly to Louis. Louis bowed his head and shook it as he stuck his hands in his pockets. "I-I didn't know they had a date." Louis spoke as if he was hurt.
I had never seen Louis show such emotion but he quickly cleared his throat and shook it off. "She just didn't tell me... Thought she would have told me..." Louis explained himself to me. I nodded my head at him, I understood. I knew that Carter had distanced herself a bit from Louis ever since she's been seeing Harry more, just like Harry's been doing it with me. But, I wanted Louis to know that he could get upset, I wasn't some tough guy that would just laugh at him for feeling emotion.
Harry's POV:
Carter and I were in our last class of the day goofing off as we do almost every class. Well when I can get her to. The bell rang and that stopped Carter and I's paper ball war. Carter and I pack up our things and leave the dull classroom. I walk with Carter as I walk her to her car and I contemplate holding her hand, but decide against it since we haven't even gone on a date yet, all she's done is said yes. I need to calm down, that doesn't mean we're getting married.
"You wanna come over?" Carter asks me as we reach her car. I notice one of Samantha's toys in the back and smile at the sight of it. "Absolutely." I agree with a large smile on my face. "I'll meet you at your house?" I ask. Carter nods her head with a cute smile playing at her lips, her dimples showing. Carter's car drives off, leaving me alone in our school parking lot. I smile widely as an idea pops into my brain.
I quickly locate my car and get into it, before driving off to our local florist. Once I get there I quickly locate a bouquet of flowers for Carter and a single Iris for Samantha. After purchasing them I quickly drive to the girls house, not wanting to waste a minute with them. They make me happy, always making me smile. I pull into their driveway to see Carter's car already in the driveway. I grab their flowers and go and knock on their door. Carter immediately answers and I don't bother hiding the flowers so I just hand the bouquet to her. It's just a bouquet of her favorite flowers.
A blush creeps onto Carter's face as she takes them from me then thanks me and walks around the corner of her house towards her kitchen, leaving her front door open for me to enter. I walk in and shut the door behind me. I find Carter in her kitchen putting the flowers in a vase with a giant smirk on her face with a pink tint to her cheeks. I began my search for Samantha as I left the girl I adore in the kitchen with her new treasure.
I find Samantha in her room looking at a picture book that I believe her mother has read to her dozens of times. Samantha notices me in the doorway and she quickly rushes over to me and gives me a large hug. I bend down and give her a proper hug before kissing her forehead. I smile at the little girl that I have just fallen in love with within a month as I pull out the iris from behind my back. Samantha gasps as she takes it from me and smiles widely as she looks it over and delicately touches the petals. Samantha grabs my hand after displaying how happy she was to me. Samantha tugs my hand and begins leading me to the staircase where she slowly goes down one stair at a time until we're at the bottom and she begins searching for Carter.
Once she's found her in the front room she shows her mother the flower. "It's beautiful! Did you say thank you?" Carter says politely to her daughter. "Thank you!" Samantha yells as she hugs my leg once more. That's why I liked Carter so much, she was so mature. She wasn't like all of these other little girls our age, she was mature and at the same time silly. When we would banter it was hilarious, she was the perfect mix and I just don't think I could find a better girl for myself. It doesn't even bother me that she has a daughter, I love Samantha. It wasn't Carter's fault that her heart was broken and there is a boy out there that isn't man enough to take responsibility for his actions. Samantha is great and so is Carter, I don't know what my future is, but if it involves these two girls then I'm ok with that.
"Will you come to my burfday party, Harry?" Samantha asks me. She had to tilt her head all the way up to look into my eyes because of the massive height difference but it was cute, and it made it look like she was giving me the puppy dog eyes, not that she needed to give me those to say yes to her, ever. Those blue eyes have me wrapped around her little finger. "It's at the end of the month." Carter smiled at me as she informed me. It was weird that she was being polite to me and not bitter ever since I found out about Samantha, but I love it.
"Absolutely! I would love to go!" I spoke in complete excitement, I wasn't lying even a little. "Wait... will there be a clown?" I asked nervously. "No." Carter reassured me, knowing my fear of the painted, big footed, goofy people. "So Harry, what's the special occasion for bringing flowers?" Carter asked me with a little smirk growing at the corners of her lips. "I can't just be a spontaneous gentleman?" I gripped my heart pretending to be hurt at her assumption. Samantha giggled at my acting.
"What is it?" Carter asks, not giving up. I sigh heavily as I nod my head agreeing to tell the two girls in front of me. I knelt down so I was on my knees before answering. "I wanted to get permission from Samantha to take her mother on a date, Saturday." I spoke as I looked into Samantha's eyes and bravely holding Carter's hand. I figured it was romantic, traditional, and Carter doesn't really have any other family around here to ask. Samantha seemed like the best choice, besides, Samantha's opinion means the most to Carter and I.
I look back and forth between the two girls and I can see that they're both rather shocked at what I had just said. "Yes! YES! YES! YES! YESSSSS!" Samantha shouted overly excited as she pulled Carter and I into a massive hug at he thought of the two of us going on a date, and dating. I smiled a the two girls as I wrapped my long arms around the tiny girl to my left and the girl I had a date with on my right. I was happy. Right now, I was truly happy. I held a smile on my face that no one could get off as we broke apart from the hug.
