The young college student wanted to say the reason behind her anger filled action was that she had gotten no sleep the night before, making the percentage of the brunette punching someone go up by twenty. That the reason was that she was simply having a bad day. That the reason why her small fist came into harsh contact with the college's football coach's assistant, now possible broken nose was that the guy was harassing her. He was poking fun at one of the girls walking by, and he was being an asshole, and Eliza was tired and having a bad day, but sadly none of that gave her the right to sucker punch the coach's assistant in his nose. She could have angrily yelled. But, that's not how she is.It's a problem, honestly, for Eliza. She takes things on with physical force. If her best friend, Josh Meyers, was annoying her to the point she got beyond pissed, a purple bruise would be on his bicep either that night or the next day depending on the severity of the hit. If she can't figure out her math homework, there's a new hole in the wall her dad has to fix. If someone was harassing and embarrassing someone else, she punches them. It has been like that ever since she could walk correctly, ever since the day her mom put her in a self-defense class all those years ago. It didn't necessarily annoy Eliza that she was like that, but she certainly didn't enjoy the trouble it got her in.
Sitting there in front of the Mahogany wooden desk, neat piles of files with paperwork stacked around the laptop and work area for the Dean of Empire State University, with ice wrapped around her swollen knuckles, she imagined how her best friend and his sister were going to react to this – along with her dad. It wasn't that she dreaded their reactions (okay, she did a little), it was just that she will once again see the faces of slight shock yet not surprised at all expressions. The girl looked up from staring at her ice-wrapped hand and to the Dean, Mr. Dowell. He didn't look happy in the slightest.
"Please, expel her."
Eliza turned her head towards the owner of the voice and smirked, refraining from snickering at hearing Austin Turner's voice. It was nasally, more high pitched, because of the fact that he had tissues up his nose to stop the bleeding and an ice pack in the middle of his face.
"Aw, c'mon, Turner," Eliza's smirk grew, "I thought you liked me?"
"As a soccer player," the football's assistant glared at her. "Not a student who has anger issues."
She rolled her eyes, "You're just mad because I caught you being a dick to one of the freshmen girls."
Austin opened his mouth to retaliate to the girl, but Mr. Dowell cut him off before he could do so, "Enough, you two. I'm not expelling anyone." Eliza smirked once again. "But I am suspending you, Miss Martin."
Her smirk fell, making it Austin's turn to smugly smile at the Dean's words.
"Why?" she asked.
"Why? Well, Miss Martin, this is the third time you've punched someone this month. If it wasn't for your brains you would have been kicked out the first time," Mr. Dowell explained.
