"Dad, have you talked to the Amond's yet?" I asked

"Yes, and they told me that the leader Drake sounded really happy to know that you accepted the marriage, I don't know what kind of a deal is this, he's got reasons and I need to know what are they, he could have just killed me if he wanted you know"

"Hmm you are right, so what about the guy I'm marrying, do you know anything about him?" I asked curiously, it's not like I'm interested or anything, but I need to know a few things about him at least before I go.

"Dominic Amond, twenty five years old. The son of the leader, Drake obviously,"

"Oh okay"

So he's twenty five, like four years older than me. Dominic, strong name.

"I'm not going to lie to you but I'm starting to get scared actually. What if they treated me badly" I said with tears willing up in my eyes.

"You know you can always change your decision Hazel, you're not forced to do this"

he said while hugging me

"No dad I said that I won't change my mind, but I'm just afraid, you know I've never approved of your mafia business and now I'm trapped in one"

"Don't be afraid Hazel I'm still here alive and as long as I am nothing will happen to you," if he only knew that's the only thing that's holding me up till now.

"Cheer up now, I've heard that Dominic doesn't get in any of his father's business, just like you! so don't be worried" he said smiling

"Remember that I won't let you alone at all! I'll make sure to keep you protected from anything even if I'm not around" he added

"Thanks dad, I love you and I know you won't let me down"

"I love you too honey" he said and gave me a kiss on my forehead.

After two weeks, we hadn't heard anything from the Amond gang but then it all came at once.

"Hazel, come down your dad has something to tell you" mom said and went down.

I followed her and found my dad

"Hazel, come sit down" he said motioning to the seat beside him

"What's up?" I said

"Drake Amond called, he said that he'll be sending the marriage papers here today so you could sign them and you'll be moving in with them starting from next week" he said with his head down. he still feels like it's his own fault, and for the past two weeks I knew he couldn't sleep at all.

"The marriage will be done just like that? just me signing some papers?"

"Yes, he said they will make the operation easier, and yeah they'll be sending one of their men to take you to their place"

"What! aren't you going to take me there!" I wanted them to take me there at least I will feel safer if they did

"I'm afraid I can't, he said I can't do this ... I'm hating them so much for making us do this shit, and hating myself more for accepting to get you sacrifice just to save my life! You should know that I'll be always grateful for what you're doing Hazel"

"That's the least I can do dad, I'd do anything for you and mom, I love you guys, anyone in my place would have done that too" I said hugging both of them.
