"i don't want to do homework, anya," cole says, giving me a fake glare.
"cole, get our your notebook. this worksheet isn't even that hard," i insist, but he doesn't comply. instead of waiting for him to get his notebook out, i pull his backpack closer and take his notebook out. i flip to a blank sheet as cole complains about his teachers.
"i don't want to do homework," he says again, more demanding.
"then what do you want to do?!" i snap.
"kiss you," he replies, and my heart drops.
