it's wednesday. cole's doing homework, his right leg hanging off the edge of the building, swaying back and forth. he has a calculator in one hand, and his notebook rests in front of him, a pencil hanging from his mouth. he's putting numbers into the calculator furiously, and after pressing the enter button, he makes a noise in frustration, and throws his calculator.

it hits one of the brick walls, breaking into pieces. he rolls his eyes, then meets my widened ones.

"great, now it's broke." he scoffs, shoving his notebook off the ledge, and it lands on his book bag.

"and if you don't watch out next thing you know you'll fall off the building and then you'll be broke." i reply teasingly.

"mr. nars homework was stupid anyways," cole growls, standing from his position, and putting his things away.

"you know, i could help you. all this time we spend up here, we could put it to use." i suggest.

"but that would ruin it." cole whines, obviously not wanting to do homework.

"yeah, yeah, okay." i reply, raising my eyebrows.

"you know, i heard what you did," cole says, smirking. i look up from the ground, and eye him suspiciously. i knew he would find out.

"and what'd you hear?" i ask.

"that steven lowery called me a pathetic low life dumbass, and that you punched him in the face."
