cole's words chilled my soul as i took a seat next to him on the rooftop. "i would've expected anyone else to leave, but not you."
"i didn't know what to do." i said softly, helplessly.
"you could've just stayed. i would have stayed." cole says, no emotion explaining how he feels, but i already know how he feels. cause we've all felt that way before.
"well, cole, i'm not you." i sigh, frustrated.
"i'm just so done with people. with everything." cole says quietly, making me regret leaving.
"i am, too, cole." i reply, and he looks at me, longing in his eyes. longing for what?
"you wanna go somewhere?" cole asks.
"like where? it's late." i answer, and he smirks.
"i know you've snuck out before, anya. don't lie to me. come on, let's go." cole says, and he leads the way into town, leaving me to guess where the hell he's taking me.
