Two months later:
It feels like the boys have been gone for years. It's different without them. The note Harry wrote for me sits on my dresser. I look at it every morning, and sometimes read it over and over again. I don't know how I have survived this long. I miss them so much. I face time them about 5 times a week, but I text them like crazy. I like to re read my messages with them when I'm bored. Only four more months without them. Then they would be coming home. I smiled whenever I thought of the boys coming home. I was currently sitting on the couch watching T.V. eating popcorn. All of a sudden I heard my phone ringing on my nightstand. I imagined that it was one of the boys wanting to talk, but I looked at the caller ID and it read my sister's name, Nicole. I quickly hit the answer button.
"Hey Nikki, what's up?" I answered the phone.
"Mel, I need you to come to Grandma's." she said urgently.
"Why? Is everything okay?" I asked frantically. I was getting nervous.
"No, Grandma called me, she said she wasn't feeling right. I'm heading down there now." Nikki explained.
"What do you mean she wasn't feeling right?" I asked.
"She said she was having stomach pains, and raging headaches. She also said she was lonely." my sister told me.
"Okay, I'll try my best to get down there." I said.
"Okay thanks, Mel. I'll see you there. Call me." she said.
"Okay, see you there." I said. Then I hung up the phone. I immediately ran to my room and started packing my suitcase. My grandma lived a long drive away. The drive is about five to seven hours depending on traffic. I had no idea how long I would be staying there, so I just packed what I thought would be a decent amount of things. I spent a good hour and a half packing what I thought I needed, and then quickly ran over to Iz's place. I knocked on the door, and Iz opened it.
"Hey Mel!" she said.
"Hey, Iz, I just wanted to let you know that I'm going to my Grandma's place for a few days, maybe longer." I said.
"Oh, okay, is everything good?" she asked.
"Yeah, but my Grandma called my sister telling her that she didn't feel right. Like she had headaches and stomach pains. So I'm gonna head down there and stay there with my sister. She needs the company I think." I said.
"Okay, I'll make sure to tell the others. I hope she's okay. Say hi to her for me." Iz said.
"I will. Thanks Iz." I said giving her a hug. She hugged me back.
"Have a safe trip." she said as I went back to my apartment.
"Thanks." I said, disappearing into my apartment. I took a quick shower and freshened myself up, because I looked like a complete slob. I did some last minute packing, grab some snacks, and then headed down to my car with all of my bags. I threw my bags into the trunk and then got in the car. I put the key into the ignition and then drove off.
Six and a half hours later:
I had hit a bit of traffic on my way, but I finally made it to my Grandma's house. I saw Nikki's car in the driveway, so I parked next to her. I grabbed a few light things out of the trunk and started walking inside. I knocked on the door, and Nikki came and answered it.
"Mel!" she said. I dropped my bags and hugged her. I hadn't seen her in the longest time.
"Nikki! I missed you so much!" I said. "How's Grandma?" I asked.
"She's inside drinking some tea. Come on in." she said. She grabbed one of my bags, and I took the others. We carried them inside and put them on the floor in front of the stairs to carry up to my room later. I walked into the living room after Nikki. Grandma's back was to us as she sat in her rocker watching the baseball game. I smiled. My Grandma was obsessed with baseball. Always has been, and always will. Nikki walked up to her chair and leaned over it.
