I was at work, and there was about a half hour left until my shift was over. Then I could go home and rest because I was still pretty wiped out from the trip. I kept my eye on the clock as I went over to my last table for the day.

"Hi, my names Melanie. I'll be you're server today. Can I...." before I could finish my boring intro, Iz's face came into view from behind the menu.

"Iz, what are you doing here? You never eat here." I said.

"I know, I came to pick you up." she said.

"For what? My shift doesn't end for another half hour." I replied completely confused.

"Well it ends now. I already talked to your boss and she said it wasn't too busy so you could be let off early." Iz explained.

"But why?" I was still confused a bit.

"Just come on. Get your things." I did as she said and went into the back to grab my phone and bag. When I came back out, Iz was stainding by the door. I punched myself out and then followed her outside. She had walked to the restaurant so we went to my car. I took my keys out of my bag and she grabbed them out of my hands and hopped in the driver's seat. I stood there stunned for a minute, clearly confused in the situation. What was she doing? I climbed into the passenger seat and buckled myself in.

"Iz what are you doing?"

"No questions, just let me drive." Iz said, a smile forming at the corner of her mouth. I kept my mouth shut, fighting the urge to ask her where she was taking me. Finally we pulled into a parking lot facing a park with a few benches scattered around. Iz took the keys out of the ignition and got out of the car. I followed her actions and got out too. She started walking towards some of the benches. I followed a little behind her.

"Iz, for real, what's going on?" I asked stopping in my tracks after walking for a bit. I was kind of getting annoyed that she wouldn't tell me.

"Just come on Mel, trust me. It'll be worth it." she said turning around to me.

"What will be worth it?" I said. She just smiled and turned back around and started walking again. I groaned and then continued following her. She had my keys so it's not like I could just leave and drive away. Finally she stopped at a bench that was right in front of some weird public art thing that literally looked like a gray wall of cement. Iz went around and stood behind the bench. When I got closer to the bench I saw there was a bouquet of roses sitting there. I walked over to the bench and sat down. I picked up the bouquet of roses and looked them over.

"Iz, what's going on?" I said, but when I looked up to see her she was gone. I looked around for a minute, scanning the park. I couldn't see her anywhere. It was just me, the roses, the bench, and the cement wall.

"Iz?" I called out. There was no answer. I looked back down at the roses. What was going on? Just then a folded piece of paper fell from the bouquet. I picked it up off the ground and opened it. It read:

Dear Melanie,

I'm sure you are probably very confused right now, but in a little while it won't be so confusing. I want you to know how much you mean to me, really. I want you to fully understand what a great honor it is to be able to say that I am in love with you. I'm not afraid to say it anymore. And yes, I was afraid to say it because I couldn't wrap my head around the fact that someone so amazing and so beautiful as you could be mine. Someone like you, with a heart so full of things that you already loved, yet you still had room enough for me. To love me. Saving you in that alley way that night that seems so long ago was the best thing that I have ever done, because it gave me you. I knew there was something that was leading me into that alley way, and it was you. It's always been you. Every choice I make, you're all I consider. Every breath I breathe is for you. Every beat of my heart, its a beat of my love for you. You're a constant thought in my mind, and I just thought you should know that. I am in love with you Melanie, forever and always. Don't let me go.

Love,

Harry

My heart ached at every word he wrote. All the things he said just made me fall in love with him all over again. The way he put his feelings into words on paper took my breath away. And what mae me melt inside was that I felt the exact same way about him. I just could never express it in the way he did. Tears were falling slowly from my eyes, and I wiped away at some of them. The rest I just let fall. I went back and read the note over and over again until I couldn't handle how much my heart was aching. After reading it for I think the fifth time, I realized that I was just sitting here crying by myself. My legs were curled up aginast my chest and I had the roses laying next to me on the bench. I folded up the note and put it in my pocket. It was starting to get cold so picked up the roses and stood up from the bench. I started walking towards my car, when I started hearing someone quietly running up behind me through the grass. I stopped and turned around right in time to see Harry coming towards me with his arms open. Before I could react he swooped me up in his arms and cradled me to his chest. He was so warm compared to my chilled body. I wrapped m arms around his neck and stared up at him with glossy eyes. His eyes were becoming glossy too as I stared at him.

"I love you so much." he said.

"I love you too." I said. He smiled so bright that his dimples appeared on his face and I just wanted to kiss every single one of them. But before I could, Harry laid his lips on mine, igniting that feeling within me of warmth and fire and love.

Harry had carried me all the way back to my car and placed me into the passenger seat. He placed a blanket over me and then went around to the drivers seat. He drove off out of the parking lot and the whole rest of the ride was a blur up until I remember seeing the apartment building come into view. I was dozing off a bit when I felt Harry's arms slide under me and lift me up out of the car. He carried me all the way up to our apartment and inside. He brought me to our room and placed me under the covers. I wasn't completely asleep, only pretending, because I just wanted to feel his arms around me, carrying me. I felt safe and protected when he held me like that. I felt the bed move a bit, knowing that Harry had come and laid next to me on the bed. I felt him move a piece of hair from my face and gently tuck it behind my ear. His gentle touch soothed me to no end. His lips brushed up against my cheekbone, and when they lifted from my face, he began to softly sing.

Now you were standing there right in front of me                                                                                               I hold on, it's getting harder to breathe                                                                                                                 All of a sudden these lights are blinding me                                                                                                      I never noticed how bright they would be

I saw in the corner there is a photograph
No doubt in my mind it's a picture of you
It lies there alone in its bed of broken glass
This bed was never made for two

I'll keep my eyes wide open
I'll keep my arms wide open

Don't let me
Don't let me
Don't let me go
'Cause I'm tired of feeling alone

Don't let me
Don't let me go
'Cause I'm tired of feeling alone

I promised one day that I'd bring you back a star
I caught one and it burned a hole in my hand, oh
Seems like these days I watch you from afar
Just trying to make you understand
I'll keep my eyes wide open, yeah

Don't let me
Don't let me
Don't let me go
'Cause I'm tired of feeling alone
Don't let me
Don't let me go

Don't let me
Don't let me
Don't let me go
'Cause I'm tired of feeling alone

Don't let me
Don't let me
Don't let me go
'Cause I'm tired of feeling alone

Don't let me
Don't let me go
'Cause I'm tired of sleeping alone

His lips lightly kissed my cheek once again, and I smiled. I felt like I was asleep, yet I heard every word.
