It has been a week since I got here at my Grandma's place. Nothing has changed really since I got there, except for the fact that I was right about Grandma lying to us. I had questioned her about it, and she admitted that she still was having headaches and stomach pains. She said that she really did have a cough, but she had already taken medicine before me and Nikki had gotten there, so it went away for awhile. I believed her. This morning I woke up and went into Grandma's room to check on her. She was awake, but she was just laying there.

"Grandma? You alright?" I asked her.

"Yeah, I'm fine Mel. But can you get me a glass of water?" she asked me.

"Of course.' I said leaving the room. I went into the kitchen and filled up a glass with water and brought it back to her.

"Thank you baby girl." she said as she took the glass in her fragile looking hands. I noticed that she had really aged since the last time I saw her months ago. She had gotten skinnier, and her hair was falling out. Her body looked unhealthy for some reason. I was studying her when she finally noticed.

"What are you staring at?" she asked me. I paused before I answered her.

"Grandma.....are you feeling okay today?" I asked her. She hesitated to answer.

"Never better." she said finally. I wasn't buying it.

"Grandma." I said so she knew I didn't believe her.

"Alright, well....." she sighed deeply. "I can't get out of bed." she said. I had been twiddling my thumbs, but I abruptly stopped when I heard her answer.

"What do you mean you can't get out of bed?" I asked her.

"I don't know. I just physically can't." she said. "I tried to this morning, but I just fell."

"You fell and you didn't tell anybody?" I asked her.

"Well, I thought you were asleep, so I didn't want to yell and wake you." she said.

"Grandma, you fell, I think we will understand if you wake us." I said. She didn't reply. "Grandma. You need to tell us everything. We are here to take care of you, and we can't do that if you don't tell us what's wrong." I said to her. I felt like I was talking to a child. I took he hand in mine. "Grandma, I want you to be okay. Me and Nikki are here to make that happen. So please, help us help you." I said to her.

"Okay, I will." she said softly.

"Good. Can I get you anything?" I asked her.

"No, I'm good for now. Thanks." she said.

'Okay, I'll come back to check on you in a bit." I said walking out. I closed the door and walked over to Nikki who was in the kitchen making coffee.

"Morning!" she said happily.

"Nikki, Grandma can't get out of bed." I told her.

"What?"

"She said he can't get out of bed. She tried earlier this morning and fell. I told her that she needs to tell us when something like that happens."

"Uh, yeah! Is she okay?" Nikki asked frantically.

"Yeah she's fine, I was going to check on her in a little bit." I said.

"Okay, I'll go see her now." Nikki took her coffee and brought it down the hall with her to Grandma's room. She came out about a half hour later. I was sitting, drinking coffee, and watching T.V.

"She seems to be doing okayish." Nikki said to me.

"Yeah, but there is definitely something wrong." I said.
