The whole next week I spent with Chase. I found out that he goes to the same college as me, but I just never saw him. Every day after school we would go and get coffee and talk. It was really fun. We began getting closer and closer as friends. It was nice. He did most of the talking. I barely told him anything about me, which he didn't seem to notice. But what kept bothering me was that I kept getting distracted by how much he looked like Harry. It was making me think that he was Harry. Maybe I was just missing him too much. That weekend we went out clubbing. It was me, Iz, Danny, Will, Noah, and Chase.
At the club:
I had had a few drinks and was feeling a little tipsy, but not enough to stop drinking. I had a few more beers, and finally I was feeling at my limit. I walked out onto the dance floor, up to Chase.
"Hey! I lovvve youuu!!!" I slurred out. Chase just looked at me and laughed.
"Wow, you're drunk!" he said. I smiled.
"You know, I have to get the elephant to the dentist because he wants to be a princess." I said. Chase laughed at me.
"Come with me." he said grabbing my hand and pulling me away from the dance floor.
"Are we going on a field trip!? I love field trips." I said as he pulled me over in the corner. I wasn't drunk enough to not realize what was going on, but the next thing that happened was completely unexpected. Chase pulled me towards him and then crashed his lips onto mine. They moved together for a few seconds, the whole time thinking he was Harry. He ran his hands up and down my body, and then played with the hem of my top. He kissed me aggressively. Harry never kissed me like that, His kisses were always sweet. And his lips were much softer. Then I realized it wasn't Harry. I pushed him away from me, his face a look of hurt. All of a sudden it was like I wasn't drunk anymore.
"What are you doing?!" I asked him.
"I thought.." Chase started.
"You thought what? That you could kiss me and do that because I'm drunk. I have a boyfriend!" I yelled.
"I know, I just, I don't..."
"Did you think you could get away with that because I thought you were Harry?" I asked.
"No, I..."
"Why would you want to kiss me anyway?" I asked.
"Because I think I'm in love with you Mel!" he yelled. I went silent. Flashes of what happened with me and Niall were starting to come back. I was having a major de ja vu moment. I shook my head back and forth.
"No. You don't. You can't." I said. "For a split second, I thought you were Harry, and in that split second you had to take advantage of me. You barely know anything about me! You know the basics, but you don't know much else. So don't say you love me." I said to him.
"Mel, I'm sorry. I just, thought maybe, you had feelings for me too." he said. I looked at him with a look of confusion.
"Why would I have feelings for you? I have a boyfriend, who I love very much, and I wouldn't give him up for the world, or for some other guy who thinks he can take me away from them. Harry is kind, handsome, truthful, caring, and loving. And you, you're just a joke."
"Mel, wait." Chase said, as I started to walk away. I turned around to look at him.
"What?" I said angrily.
"What are you doing?" he asked.
"Don't talk to me. And don't kiss or touch me like that ever again. I don't want to see you. Maybe you can make up for it somehow, but I doubt it. Bye Chase." I said turning back around and walking away. Chase's face had a look of hurt cast across his face. He looked as if I had slapped him. I decided to forget he was ever in my life. I mean I've known him for like a week and all we did was get coffee, and he did most of the talking. He doesn't know much about me anyways, so what is there to love for him? I was just going to forget about him, and focus on the boys' homecoming in two weeks.
