Chapter 19 - His Promise

Rose Hastington

I'm late.

I know it's my own hotel chain but still I don't like it when I'm late. I quickly put on my shoes and ran out from my house but stopped my a bucket of roses in front of my door.

This got me pissed

I take it and throw it to the trash again not even bothering to read the card. He's wasting his money for something that will end up inside the trash

"Goodmorning" I turned quickly and I glared at him. I closed the trashbin and walked pass him to my car.

"Aren't you going to greet your new neighbour?" I closed the door and drive away. I'm going to act like he's not exist. As I make my way to my office , I jumped as I saw thousands of roses inside my office room.

"Jeff!" I called my secretary

"Yes Ms. Hastington" He ran from his table to where I stand. I turned to him and gestured all the roses

"Throw this away"

"Yes? You want me to throw away all this roses?" He asked again and I glared at him. I was beyond pissed this time

"Throw it , no questions. Don't accept any roses again!" I ordered him and he just nodded. He asked the staff to help him taking away all the roses.

Suddenly my phone rings , it's Kevin. I smiled and answred the phone quicly.

"Hey Kev" I answered

"Oh hey beautiful , are you free tonight?" He asked and I smiled

"Why?"

"Let's watch a movie" He said

"What time?" I asked

"7 p.m? Have you come home that time?" He asked and I looked at the clock and estimate the time.

"I can make it , you wanna meet there?" I asked

"I'll pick you up at your house okay?" He said

"Oh.. okay" I said and we both ended after talking a bit. Kevin is a really sweet guy and he's really caring. I like caring guy because my personality is not. I started to work and work..

Suddenly someone knocked on my door , I tell whoever outside to come. It's Jeff

"What do you need Jeff?" I asked but still on my paper

"Uhmm.. Ms. Hastington.. this-" I looked up and saw a black paper bag. I looked at him weirdly and he walked to me. He put it on my desk and I stand up to look what's inside.

Taking the card out and opened it

It's 12 , as in lunch time.
I don't like the idea of you skiping your lunch
I brought you tuna salad and hamcheese sandwich , your favourite

I tear the card and glared at Jeff , he looked at me shock.

"Never receive things like this again , do you hear me? Never receive anything from Max!" I bursted angrily

"Ok-okay" He suttered

"This is for you.." I pointed at the paper bag and he nodded. Taking it and ran outside. I sit on my chair again and sighed. What are you trying to do Max? Just give up already , you'll never win my heart back.

Never..

I continue to work and work and work and work until I saw the clock already showing 5.32 p.m , I need to go home. I quickly put everything into places and to down to the lobby.

I walked out from the building but suddenly stop to see Max is leaning to his car smiling at me. I glared at him instantly and he keep smiling. He walked to me and I saw a bouquet of roses on his hand

"Hey beautiful.. how's your day?" He asked and giving the rose in front of my face and I just walked pass him

"Rose" He called and I walked faster towards my car but he suddenly appear in front of me

"Can we talk?"

"No , I don't have a time to talk to a manwhore" I looked straight into his eyes and said it with a cold tone

"I'm sorry Rose.. everything and j-"

"I don't want to hear it" I walked pass him again but he hold my wrist

"Rose please" Max Cesantio completely an asshole and I glared at him

"Go to hell!"

"Look I'm sorry , I know I'm a jerk-"

"You are and can you just go away? My date is waiting for me!" I said completely annoy by him

"Don't leave me Rose" He stated and that makes me laugh. I laughed at his statement

"Do you hear youself now Max?" I looked at him disbelief and he let out a sigh

"I can't even imagine my life without you"

"Try to imagine.. no no It already happen anyway" I said coldly

"Rose please give me one last chance.. I'll make-"

"No more Max.. I don't love anymore , suck it up" That's completely a lie when he's still giving me this fast heartbeat

"Let's talk okay? You need to hear my explaination"

"I don't want to!" I bursted and sighed , "We both tired of each other so suck it up Max , I already have Kevin now. I'm happy. Can you just let me be happy? I'm tired loving someone" I sighed and he looked at me with a blank expression

"I have a date with Kevin at 7 , don't ruin it"

"I'll prove it to you Rose , I swear it! I'll prove it to you" He looked into my eyes

"You'll just wasting your time" I shook my head and said it coldly

"I'll take your heart again Rose.. I will"

"You can't and you won't so just give up already will you?" I walked to my car and unlocked it

"Giving up on you will never be on my dictionary Rose. I will never leave you.. I swear that with you" I turned to him

"There won't be any place for you again Max.. you crush it all" I looked at my reflection

"I promise I'll fix it , I'll get you back. You're meant to be with me. You're my first and my last"
