Scamp hadn't actually realized how far they truly were from home. They had set out in the morning, now the sun was setting and Scamp was just now seeing landmarks that indicated Snob Hill was close.
"No offense or anything, but.. How much farther?" Noname croaked. Angel looked back at the Jack Russell Terrier. He seemed extremely worn out. He had even begun limping. Worry washed over Angel as she quickly ran to Noname's side. Scamp stopped and looked back, Angel's fur was pressed up against Noname's as she helped him walk.
Why was she doing that? He thought to himself. With a grunt, he turned back around and began walking again.
"Try and pick up the pace. We're almost there."
Angel sighed with frustration,
"Scamp! He's exhausted! Could we at least take a break?"
A feeling of irritation hit Scamp as he stopped again and turned around,
"No! We are almost there! I can smell it! We can't stop now!"
"Scamp!-" Angel started, only to be quickly interrupted by Noname.
"I-it's okay. I'll be fine. You don't have to help me. I can manage just fine."
The pup reassured his golden furred friend.
"Yeah. You really don't have to help him."
Scamp seethed, undoubtedly annoyed and jealous at the fact that Noname - a pup that Angel had only met a few days ago, was receiving all of her attention.
Angel scoffed,
Why was he acting so cold? Could he be jealous? There's no way. He isn't like that.
Angel pushed away all the negative thoughts about Scamp, she trusted him not to act so childish about small things like this. He never seemed like the type. He was the type who'd get mad over a small thing like being called a house pet. But he certainly wasn't the jealous type.
"Scamp, why are you acting this way?"
Angel asked, walking away from Noname and towards the angry grey mutt.
"I- I don't know! It just feels like you don't care about me anymore.."
Scamp admitted. His voice during his sentence started off strong but once he confessed how he felt, his voice cracked with embarrassment. He immediately regretted his outburst a few minutes ago.
Angel gasped.
"So you are jealous! Unbelievable!" She exclaimed, glaring daggers at Scamp. His ears flattened as he looked down.
"Scamp! There are other male pups in this world, and they can be my friends. You know that right?" She asked in a harsh tone. Scamp silently nodded.
"For crying out loud! You're acting like Buster!" Angel growled.
"Did I hear my name?"
Said an all too familiar voice.
Eyes widened and ears perked, the two pups refrained from fighting and looked in Noname's direction. Standing right behind the pup was none other than the evilest Doberman of them all: Buster.
"Buster!" The two pups exclaimed, now Angel's ears were flattened as well.
Frightened beyond belief, Noname turned around and looked up at Buster. He gulped.
"So, Noname, when were you planning on telling them about our little arrangement?"
The small pup laughed awkwardly, trying to hide his fear.
"H-how do you know my name?" Buster rolled his eyes,
"You can drop the innocent act, Noname. You and I both know it ain't fooling anybody."
Noname looked down at the ground with shame, his laughter slowly dying.
Forgetting how angry she previously was, Angel slowly approached the two dogs, leaving Scamp to stare at the situation with total confusion.
"Noname, what is he talking about?" She asked.
Buster smiled sinisterly, it was very unsettling.
"Noname, Noname, Noname, will the lies ever stop?" He teased. Noname looked up at Buster, he noticed how whenever he talked his razor sharp teeth were perfectly visible. He didn't like it one bit. With a yelp of fear, the Jack Russell Terrier ran behind the golden Pomeranian. At this point, he only felt safe behind her. That feeling of security promptly shattered when Angel turned to face him,
"Noname, what is he talking about?" She asked again, a strong sense of urgency in her voice.
Noname's legs shook as his ears flopped down,
"I.. I.." As he tripped over his words, Buster jumped into the conversation.
"What he's trying to say is: he wouldn't have found you if it weren't for me. I sent him your way."
Angel and Scamp both gasped.
