"What?!"
Angel hissed, reducing the poor puppy to mere whimpers.
Buster laughed maniacally, briefly showing off his razor sharp teeth once again.
"Yeah! Hurts doesn't it!? When you think you can trust someone but then it turns out that you shouldn't have this whole time!" Buster referenced months ago when he thought Angel was a junkyard dog but it turned out that she wanted a home all along. He talked in such a cruel tone that it made Angel contemplate whether or not he was actually going to hurt them. That's the tone he usually uses before he begins the never-ending tantrum. She got an earful of them almost every hour back when she was a junkyard dog.
"If you couldn't tell: I'm being sarcastic!-" Buster began, only to be interrupted by Scamp.
"I'm well aware, Buster."
"Hey! Don't test me, pretty boy! I'm here for you! And trust me, you aren't going to like the reason why I'm here." Buster growled as he inched towards Scamp, causing him to run behind Angel for protection. Noname tried to do the same. But instead of allowing him to hide, Angel turned to face Noname, violet eyes wide with anger.
"Noname, is he telling the truth?"
"Well... I... um..." Noname tripped over his words.
"Tell me!" Angel urged, stepping closer to him, automatically causing him to step backwards.
"Yes!" He finally yelped.
"Yes! It's true! It's all true! He told me to follow you— a-and I... I just did! He told me that if I didn't do what he told me to then he would do to me what he did to Scamp!"
"You saw that?" Scamp asked, a bit shocked. Noname nodded frantically.
"Yes! I saw it all! But I was hiding so you just didn't know." After a bit of silence, the pup spoke up again.
"When you collapsed— Buster told me to drag you to a nearby alleyway and wait for you to wake up. Y'know, play the role of the hero and eventually gain your trust. And then when the time was right, I'd go on a walk with you and have Buster jump out and take you as our prisoner."
"Prisoner? How could you, Noname!? I trusted you! Everything I told you... you already knew?" Noname nodded.
"Buster told me."
"And everything you told me! It was all a lie?"
"No-no! What I told you about myself was true!"
"And why do you want me as your 'prisoner' anyway? What do you want from me?"
"I-I don't! I don't even know why Buster wanted you in the first place! I don't want anything from you!"
"You see, Angel Cakes, I wanted to use you to bait Scamp." Buster explained as he glanced at the worried pup that resembled his old friend: The Tramp.
"I very badly wounded you, sure. But I wasn't done with ya, scamparoo! So I didn't leave. I waited for an opportunity." Buster paused, pulling Noname into a small hug with his paw.
"We, waited for an opportunity."
"An opportunity for what?" Angel asked, protecting Scamp and keeping her stone cold glare in tact.
"An opportunity to continue what was so rudely interrupted. Originally, once we had you, Angel, we would bring you back home— because I figured Scamp would be too hurt to walk all the way out here. So out of the kindness of my heart, I was going to bring you home and have Scamp just limp his way to the porch." Buster told them in a noticeably fake sympathetic tone of voice.
"But it seems that wasn't unnecessary." Buster smirked.
"I have to hand it to you, Scampster, you have spirit." He paused.
"But do you have strength?" With that, Buster lunged at Scamp with a snarl.
"No!" Noname yelled at the top of his lungs, running in front of Angel and Scamp. His heroic act was in vain, however, for Buster simply slapped him with his paw, sending the small pup flying.
To Scamp's surprise, Angel jumped up and latched her sharp teeth onto Buster's neck, biting down with force.
"Get off!" Buster yelled, moving so fast that Angel couldn't hold on anymore and fell down. She had left a pretty painful looking mark, which caused Buster to wince in
pain.
Angel didn't go down easily, she immediately bounced back and ran to Buster. Only to be slapped across the scene just like Noname. Only this time, Buster applied more force to the golden puppy. That made her stay down.
Terrified, Scamp's ears flattened as he backed away. Buster laughed.
"Don't feel mighty anymore, do you?" The Doberman asked, baring his teeth. He knew that made the smaller dog nervous. But instead of trembling, Scamp stood up straight and smiled.
"Actually, I'm feeling a sudden burst of confidence." That confused Buster. But he didn't have enough time to decide what he meant before Tramp jumped onto the Doberman from behind and pinned him to the ground, growling with total anger.
"Tramp~ long time no see." Buster greeted, laughing a bit nervously.
"Shut it!" Tramp demanded as Lady walked up next to him and shot Buster a glare. In return, Buster rolled his eyes.
"Yeah, yeah, what's going on, priss?" He asked, angering Tramp to the point where he couldn't take it anymore and slashed Buster's other eye— the one Scamp hadn't touched. Leaving another injury.
"Go." Said Tramp in a low growl.
"Do not come near any of us again." He continued.
"Yeah? And what if I decide to ignore this warning?" In reply, Tramp slammed his paw down on Buster's throat, cutting off his air supply.
"A-alright!" He caved in after about twenty seconds.
"I get the picture." He said as Tramp removed his paw and allowed Buster to get up.
"I make no promises though." Buster said with a conniving smile. Instead of speaking, Tramp clawed Buster's leg, making him yelp.
"That one hurt more than the last!" He yelled as he ran away from view.
"Good riddance." Lady muttered, followed by a snort from Tramp.
"S-Scamp! Are you alright?" Noname asked, slowly getting up and running towards the trio of dogs.
"Don't worry about me!" Scamp told him as he swiftly ran over to Angel.
The young puppy had slash marks on her cheek from where Buster hit her. She was most definitely unconscious. Or was she...?
"Angel? Can you hear me?" Scamp asked, tearing up as he nuzzled close to Angel.Um. Hi? lol. I know it's been a long while since I updated this story. Sorry about that by the way. I don't want to do a lot of explaining so I'll just go to the end: I'm not interested in this story at all anymore. But I know you guys are and it wouldn't be fair to just stop writing. So I'm just going to finish off this story. There will not be a sequel because that would just be pure torture for me. I'm currently working on another story atm. However, I will not publish that one until this one is complete. There's only about two more chapters left in this story. Yeah yeah I know you're probably thinking the way Buster was so easily defeated was lazy on my part. You're right, it was. But I honestly had no ideas for how I wanted this to play out so I just kinda winged it. Again, sorry. But I will not leave this story unfinished. Thanks for understanding!
