I had a story in my head and I needed to write it down, define it, find artistic reward in it. It had suddenly exploded, allowing me to tie ideas that I would never have dreamed of together. For me, this is the defining book in my career as a writer, even if it isn't my greatest, or most successful, or best received. It's the most important. I only hope it brings people together and brings joy, as this story has literally been what's been getting me to sleep peacefully at night. What gets me up in the morning. It's a journey, an adventure. And I suppose, that is why a writer writes. To go on adventures, fantastic adventures in their own heads. To write in the day what their nightly visions could only wish to be. I mean that very metaphorically, since what I actually do is drink coffee near midnight and write down the vivid hallucinations I get from being awake far past any reasonable bed time. This has been a hard book to finish and I already have so much material for a sequel. Genuinely, to anyone who got this far, thank you for sticking with me, and I really appreciate the support. All the same, I think I've bored everyone enough with the details.
Thank you for the magic, sincerely, the highschooler that started the book, and the adult that finished it;
