@the Coffee Shop:
"A beautiful morning eh Niko, a guy greeted him. Morning Nana (Grandma) and Tata (Grandpa)"
"Morning to you too Sam", Niko replied.
"Morning Sam", both her grandparents replied.
"And who is this na'au wahine (beautiful woman)?" Sam asked Niko
"She's their mo'opuna (grandchilld), Rain. Rain meet Sam, a good friend of mine", Niko replied.
"Hello Rain, kagagaling mo lang ng Pinas?" tanong agad ni Sam.
"Yeah, I got deported", pagbibiro nio Rain..
At nagtawanan silang lahat...
"I've got to go, My boss here wants me to open the shop today. I don't wanna get fired", paalam ni Sam. See you at the shop, Niko".
And Niko just nodded..
"I'm going to order for us, Tutu (grandmother/grandfather) the usual?, tanong niya sa Lolo't Lola ni Rain..
"Yes, please', sagot naman nang mga ito..
So lagi silang magkakasama, alam na niya ang coffee preference ng Lolo't Lola niya eh, naiisip ni Rain..
Nang biglang tumingin sa kanya si Niko " Americano and blueberrry muffins and strawberry cheesecake, right?", it wasn't a question.. It was a statement...
" How did you know?", gulat na tanong ni Rain..
"Grams", sagot nito..
And the look on her Lola's face, GUILTY....
"La, ibinenta niyo na yata ako kay Nikola eh", biro ni Rain sa Lola niya nang iwan sila ni Niko.
"Oo darling, talagang ibinenta ka na ng Lola mo", sagot naman ng Lolo niya. AT nagtawanan silang lahat..
Rain's feeling a lot better... all thanks to Niko....
"Puntahan ko na si Niko baka kailangan niya ng tulong", pagpapaalam niya sa dalawa.
"Hey, need a hand?", tanong niya agad kay Niko pagdating niya ng counter
"Yeah, your hand for me to hold", seryosong sagot nito..
And she blushed once more...
Grabe naman kasi makahirit itong si Niko.. Parang pinoy sa ka-cornyhan...
"What are you having?", pag-iiba ni Rain ng usapan.
"Americano, strawberry muffin and strawberry cheesecake, your other favorites", nakangiting sagot nito..
Habang nagkakape sila, panay ang kuwento ng Lola niya sa Love story nila ng Lolo niya... And, hindi niya maiwasang makilig at matawa, kc may pahara-harana pa daw noon ang Lolo niya at napakarami daw loveletters..
Napabuntong hininga tuloy siya, di pa siya nakakareceive nang love letter, kahit minsan sa buong buhay niya, baduy daw yun sabi ni NEal...
Nag-iisip pa rin siya nang biglang " Here, try this", it was Niko coaxing her to eat a piece of strawberry cheesecake..
Susubuan siya nito.. And she looked around her, nakatingin sa kanya ang Lolo't Lola niya as if begging her to try it.. And she did... Pumalakpak bigla ang Lola niya na tinawanan naman ng Lolo niya.
"One more", sabi ni Niko. and because it was really good,.. Kumain siya ulit...
"Couldn't he be any sweeter", she asked herself.. And she's beginning to enjoy Niko's presence...
Niko's POV:
I know my heart will literally break if I push through this..
I am happy right now with her, that's what matters..
Aww, another chestpain..
The inevitable will happen but God, Please let me be happy for now..
I want to make her smile. I want to make some memories with her...
Just for now please..

"Niko, are you alright, you seemed pale", Rain asked, uneasiness in her voice..
"Yeah, I'm okae, I guess my heart can't contain it's excitement having you near", Niko replied.
"Humirit ka na naman.. Naku La, etong manok mo eh.. Gusto akong kiligin", pagbibiro ni Rain sa Lola niya.
"What did you say?", namamanghang tanong ni Niko..
"She said you're very sweet", sagot naman ng Lola niya.
And Niko smiled, so pleased..
Habang, parang red tomato na ang mukha ni Rain sa kahihiyan...
