Chapter 4- Fight

Joey's POV

We arrived at the hospital. I saw Lisa waiting outside some door. I ran straight up to her and pushed he against the wall.

Joey: Why the f*ck would you ever hurt Shane?! He's the sweetest, kindest, most caring, friendly person in the world!

Lisa: I-I'm sorry.

She started crying. I don't buy this bullshit. Sawyer pulls me away from her.

Sawyer: Calm down. Deal with this later. We need to know that Shane is ok.

I hope. I could never live knowing that I could've saved him but he told me not to.

We all sat around in the waiting room for hours. I fell asleep on Sawyer's shoulder.

When I woke Lisa was pacing around nervously. We sat around for another few hours until the doctor came out.

Dr: Shane is doing fine. He will be ok. If you guys would like to see him, follow me.

I stand up quickly and follow him to the room. I run straight in and walk over to Shane.

I'm still not sure what happened but I'm glad he's ok. I hold one of his hands.

I look behind me. No one else is in the room. I lean down and plant a kiss on his lips. Then I whisper,

Joey: I love you Shane.

I sit down in a chair next to him. I watch him sleep until Lisa walks in.

Lisa: Hands off my boyfriend!

Joey: Hell no! You don't deserve Shane! And you can't stop me from holding his hand.

Lisa walks over to the other side and grabs his other hand. We glare at each other silently until Sawyer walks in.

Sawyer: Hey guys.

He sensed the tension. He took a seat right next to me. he leaned close to my ear and whispered.

Sawyer: Calm down. You can deal with her later.

I nod my head. I only want to protect Shane from her. I see straight through her act.

She doesn't actually love him. She is probably just using him. Then she takes her anger out on him. She is such a horrible person.

After the rest of the day passes with us just sitting quietly in the room, Lisa and Sawyer fall asleep.

I make sure they're both asleep before I lean over Shane. I stroke his cheek gently. There's bruises all over his face.

It breaks my heart to see him like this and his girlfriend sitting beside him like she owns him.

Joey: I will save you from her Shane. I will protect you and make sure no one else harms you ever again.

I stare at his peaceful face for a few more minutes before I sit back down and fall asleep.

When Shane wakes up I will stand up to her. Shane won't have to be afraid any longer.

Shane's POV

I wake up in a hospital bed. I look around. Lisa is sitting in a chair beside me sleeping. I carefully pull my hand away from hers.

Then I look to my other side. I see Joey sleeping in another chair very close to my bed. He's also holding my hand. I don't pull it away though.

And next to Joey is Sawyer. Also sleeping.

I lay back down facing Joey. I stare at him an eventually dose off.

Sometime later I wake up to yelling. I sit up and see Lisa and Joey.

Joey: You don't deserve Shane!

Lisa: Too bad bitch! He proposed to me! He's mine!

Joey looks shocked and sad. Then they both notice I'm awake.

Lisa: Tell him Shane!

I flinch. Joey looks like he's about to cry.

Shane: I-I...

Lisa: What the hell is wrong with you Shane?!

She looks like she wants to hit me again. After what happened to me before I got here, I'm petrified of her now.

Joey: Get away from him! How could you ever think of hurting him?

Joey is sticking up for me. I reach out to grab his arm and pull him away but he's too far. I told him not to do this.

Lisa: You can't tell me what to do!

Joey: I said get away!

He shoves her. She stumbles backwards.

I think they're about to fight.

And over me.
