Chapter 19- Saved

Joey's POV

Meghan had come over to talk to me about the plan. She knew where Shane was but wouldn't tell me because she doesn't want me to go by myself.

I was so anxious to save Shane. I couldn't sit still all day. Meghan kept trying to distract me but it only worked for so long.

Meghan: Ready to go?

I've been ready all day. We dressed in dark clothes. Meghan drove to the same street I found Sawyer and Lisa on.

She led me to where Shane was. I looked through the crack in door. I saw my poor Shane crying. He looked so scared and beat up. It just broke my heart.

I looked away. I looked over at Meghan. She nodded. We opened the doors and ran in.

Shane: Joey!

His face lit up. Lisa and Sawyer glared at me. I saw Sawyer pull out a gun. Lisa had a knife.

I looked at Meghan. We didn't have weapons. She didn't even seem fazed though.

She looked at me. I knew I was supposed to follow the plan but I was scared.

Meghan: Go!

I ran over to Shane. He was crying again but it was tears of joy.

Shane: Joey.

I smiled but then Sawyer grabbed me. He pulled me away from Shane. He pointed the gun at me. My heart started racing. Lisa was beside him smirking.

I glanced behind them and saw Meghan freeing Shane. She and Shane were supposed to run away while Lisa and Sawyer were distracted by me.

But Shane didn't listen to Meghan. He ran over and stood in front of me.

Joey: Shane what are you doing?!

Shane's POV

They "love" me. They won't shoot. They won't kill me.

Sawyer: Move.

I shook my head. Joey saved me, now I have to save him.

Sawyer: Move or else!

Shane: No!

Sawyer: Fine.

I heard a bang. I fell backwards. I heard Joey scream. He caught me.

Joey's POV

No! Why Shane! I can't lose you now!

He had a bullet in his chest. He was bleeding a lot. I couldn't stop crying.

I looked up and Sawyer had the gun pointed at me now. I froze.

Suddenly I hear two more gun shots. I squeezed my eyes shut but I didn't feel anything. I opened them again. I saw Sawyer and Lisa lying on the floor like Shane. Someone shot them.

I looked around Meghan was gone. I was terrified. Who shot them?

Suddenly Tyler and Meghan stepped out of the shadows. I was confused but I didn't have time for questions.

Joey: Call an ambulance! Now!

Tyler: Calm down. I already did. Shane is going to be fine.

I looked down and saw Shane smiling at me. I cried again.

Joey: Shane I love you so much.

Shane: I love you.

Joey: Please don't die.

He looked as if he would fall asleep and never wake up. He smiled again.

Shane: I'm not going anywhere. I promise.

I hear the sound of ambulances. I smiled this time. I was relieved that Shane would be ok.

But what about Tyler? Won't the cops arrest him? He did shoot Lisa and Sawyer.

And what about those two? They kidnapped, beat, and tortured Shane. They deserved to be in jail until they die.

I didn't have time to worry about Tyler or Lisa or Sawyer. They paramedics carried Shane over to the ambulance. I quickly ran after them. I got in the truck and held Shane's hand.

I knew he was still with because he squeezed my hand until we got to the hospital. Then he had to let go.

I won't let go of him ever again.
