Chapter 14- Sleeping Soundly

Shane's POV

I wake up with Joey's arms wrapped around me. I noticed he's watching me sleep. I give him a kiss.

Shane: Good morning.

Joey: Good morning. Did you sleep well?

Shane: Yeah. Why are you so concerned about me all of a sudden.

Joey: I worry about you. I just want to make sure you're ok.

Shane: I'm fine.

Joey: Ok. Wanna get breakfast? Your mom said she would make us breakfast.

Shane: Sure. Let's go.

I got up and grabbed Joey's arm. I dragged him downstairs to the kitchen where my mom is cooking.

Mom: Good morning boys! Breakfast will be ready in a minute. Sit.

We sat down and ate together. Then we just talked. Then my mom left to go shopping so Joey and I had the house to ourselves.

We cuddled on the couch. He stroked my hair as we watched tv. I'm so glad Joey is my boyfriend.

I started to fall asleep in his arms. I love him so much. And it's so peaceful here at my mom's. I don't really want to move out.

Joey: Baby, are you tired?

Shane: No. I just like cuddling with you. I'm fine.

He pulls me closer to his chest and hugs me tighter. I smile. I feel safe. like no one can touch me. and I know Joey won't let anyone do that.

Joey's POV

Shane fell asleep in my arms. I didn't want to move so I just laid there with him and dosed off myself. I woke up to Shane's mom returning from her shopping trip.

Shane was still curled up on my lap. I stroked his hair and watched him peacefully sleep.

I still can't believe he can sleep like this after what Sawyer did to him. And Lisa too.

At least now he has someone who truly loves him and will not abuse or rape him.

Also I'm kinda bummed out that Sawyer stole his virginity. I wanted to do that. Of course not anytime soon but eventually.

I felt Shane move. He woke up and stared at me smiling.

Joey: What?

Shane: I just can't believe I've gotten so lucky to wake up to this face instead of any other.

I leaned down a gave him a kiss on his lips. He sat up in my lap and leaned against me.

Joey: Tired?

Shane: Don't be ridiculous. I just took a long nap.

Joey: I know. It was a joke.

Shane's mom: Boys! I made dinner! It's chicken!

Joey: My favorite!

Shane laughed. He stood up and we walked into the kitchen. We had dinner which was delicious. Then we went up to the bedroom.

Joey: Are you tired? If not we can watch a movie.

Shane: Nah. I wouldn't watch it anyways.

We got into bed and immediately Shane buried his face in my chest. I wrapped my arms loosely around his waist.

Joey: Goodnight babe. Love you.

Shane: I love you too.

I closed my eyes and fell asleep easily. I wasn't that worried about Shane anymore. I knew I would wake up to him wrapped in my arms, his face on my chest.
