GABRIELLA'S P. O. V
Throughout the week it was hard for me to function. I can tell that people are starting to get the vibe that I am quiet and very self conscious. Ever since that day Troy and I fought, I've been really distant. I am starting to believe that the strong independent women I built is deteriorating...and I mean deteriorating fast. The woman who I thought I was is slowly starting to fade and her nightmares are eating her.
Every time I look at my daughter, I could see light, happiness, a future but what? And who? Makes her light up with happiness. Was I wrong this whole entire time? Am I not a good mother? Those were the thought that constantly distracted me for the past few days. You have no idea how scared and how terrified I am. However, I try my very best to hide it from my little girl. I really do, but knowing her, she is very intelligent and could sense it quickly.
It was a Thursday and tomorrow is the day Lilly is going to see one of Troy's pre season game. Since Jen and I were both off tomorrow she insisted we both go shopping together after we drop Lilly off at the Staples Centre. I personally am limited to the whole shopping idea but I have been saving up to get my little girl something special for her fourth birthday which was approaching soon. As I was collecting dirty dishes from empty tables, I could see my daughter's intense concentrated face as she was drawing something on a sheet of paper. As I placed the last dirty dish in the bin I walked over to her ready to place the dirty dishes in the dish washer
"Hello my little artist", I said but she quickly covered the paper.
"No peaking mommy", She playfully said.
I giggled, "Watcha drawing there?" I asked as I poked her side causing her to laugh but her hands remained glued covering the paper.
"It's a surprise!", She said smiling.
"When will I be able to see this beautiful art work?", I asked.
"Soon!", She said.
"I'm excited", I said as I walked to the other side of the island counter.I watched her open up one of her hard covered books and she placed it standing up prevent me from taking a peak. I shook my head smiling before proceeding back to loading the dishes.
LATER THAT EVENING...
9:30PM BEDTIMEGABRIELLA'S P. O. V
We were in our little place. The only form of light we had during the night was the Christmas Lights I bought during the end of the holiday sale. I always like the idea of hanging Christmas lights in a room, with this space we live in, it makes it seem more unique in a way. We laid in silence as I held my little girl in my arms. "I love you", I whispered as I placed gentle kisses on her forehead. I felt her snuggle closer to me as she buried her body into mine. These are the moments that make you forget. These are the moments that you don't want to let go of.
"Did you finish your master pieces?", I asked.
"Oh, thank you for reminding me!", She said as she quickly got up and walked over to her backpack. As I sat up, I watched at she took out the piece of paper and quickly hid it behind her back.
"Close your eyes and no peaking!", She said.
I quickly did what she asked me too.
"No peaking yet I am going to place it in your hands, and when I say open then you can look! Okay..." She instructed.
"Okay", I replied.
Once she placed it in my hand she gave me the signal and I opened my eyes.
"Thats you and me sitting under our favourite tree having a picnic together", She said.
I smiled at her work, it was your typical stick figurines but her imagination, creativity and thoughts that came with it made it more special.
"I love it princess, Thank you", I said as I kissed her forehead.
"Love you mommy! Love you to the moon and back!", She exaggerated.
Then out of nowhere she grabbed me by the face and kissed my lips multiple times, but I let her. She was my baby she was my strength. The strength I needed to lift up my spirits.
"I love you mommy", My little girl whispered as she wrapped her tiny arms around me.
This is all I needed. Me and my baby.
"Come on lets get some shut eye, you need all your energy for tomorrow's game", I told her.
He nodded her head in reply as we both got comfy once again ready to sleep.
