Broken Chapter 20: Quality Time

TROY'S P. O. V
          Love, is indescribable. Even if you were the most cruelest person out there, deep down, you will always love. I've learned to express my love and true emotions in High School with the one girl who I stupidly let go of. I will always ask my self Why? Why, did I let her go? How did I let that one person I cared about go?.... Now I realize what I want. I want her and only her. I want to dedicate my life and give her the happiness she deserves. I want to be able to protect not only my daughter but also her. I want to be that person she can lean on while she is struggling. I want to be her healer when she is in pain. I want to be the shoulder she can cry on when she is down. I want to be that person. I want to be her person.....because now I realize....Gabriella Montez is the person and only person who I love.

As I made my way downstairs, I could smell the aroma of coffee and bacon from the kitchen. As I entered the kitchen, my parents were both seated on the kitchen table eating their breakfast.

"Morning", I greeted.
"Morning son", My dad replied.
"Come on, grab a plate and join us for breakfast", My mom requested.

Once I grabbed my plate and utensils I took a seat and placed food on my plate.

"So how many more days are you both staying here?", I asked.
My dad laughed, "Why getting bored of us?"
I smiled, "No, but if my parents stay longer I might not let you both go. I am getting use to mom's cooking again and your expertise in making my lawn presentable"

Both my parents laughed.

"Well we told you to get a smaller house, at least you will be able to maintain it", My mom said.
"I like the huge space, thank you very much", I said joking.
"It is nice but you can barely maintain it", My dad said.
"Hello, basketball star here", I replied back.
"Exactly our point!", My mom said joking.
"Okay enough, time to stop bullying me", I said jokingly.
"So we have news for you", My dad said.
"Shoot", I said while chewing on bacon.
"So your mom is retiring in less than two weeks and that means both of us will be retired so we've decided to buy a house here in LA", My dad announced.
"That's great, what area did you decided on?", I asked.
"Well your mom and I found a house we are willing to buy in Pasadena", My dad said.
"Where particularly?", I asked.
"San Marino", My mom said.
"Well, I hope you both follow through because I miss my folks coming to watch me play", I mentioned.
"Well that's another reason why we decided to move up here, to support our son", My mom said smiling.
"Cool, just let me know what's going on and I will do my best to help you both in any way that I can", I assured them.
"So how is everything going with you, Gabriella, and Lilly? You've been seeing each other for quite a while now and your father and I would like to see them", My mom said.

I swallowed my food nervous to answer back. Gabriella and I aren't in good terms. How am I suppose to tell them?

"I don't think Gabriella is comfortable yet to go on that stage. I already agreed that as of right now, Lilly only knows me as Troy and only Troy. Gabi will be the one to decided when it's the right time for Lilly to know that I am her father", I explained to them.
"But that isn't fair, she kept it from you for what? Three years and a bit? Troy that isn't right and as the child's Grandparents we deserve to see her as well", My mom interjected.
"Look mom can we not argue about this, I am fine with where I stand right now. I'm happy that Gabi approves of me seeing her so mom, please let me handle this", I assured her.
"Tell you what, we have four days left here till we have to head back to Albuquerque, why don't you invite them to dinner tomorrow?", My mom suggested.
"Mom? Seriously?", I looked at her annoyed.
"What? Just mention that you are inviting them over to dinner at your place thats it, don't mention us", My mom requested.
"Mom I don't think thats a great idea", I said sternly.
"Come one Troy please, your Dad and I are dying to see this little girl, and Gabriella", She explained.
"I don't know mom", I replied back.
"If it makes it better tell her that, Maria will be joining, Maria told me she is starting to open up to her a bit", My mom persuaded.
I sighed, "Fine but I can't promise you its going to work, it takes a lot of persuasion now for her to agree", I explained.
"It's worth a shot", My mom said.
"Anyways, I am going to the café to visit", I said while putting my plate into the dish washer.
"See a perfect opportunity to talk to her personally", My mom said.
"Yeah okay mom, I'm just gonna grab my things and head out", I said walking out of the kitchen shaking my head.
"Okay your dad and I are going to check the house again", She mentioned.
"Yea just double check everything before you leave!", I called out while jogging up to my room.
