Broken Chapter 21: Dinner

TROY'S P. O. V
         Today is the day. Oh God today is the day. As you can tell I'm nervous. I just want everything to go as planned. When I told my parents yesterday they were ecstatic, especially mom. They can't wait to meet my little angel and of course to see Gabriella again.
It is 10am and my mother and I decided to go grocery shopping for tonights feast.

"So what's tonights menu?", I asked.
"I'm going to make a variety of things", My mom replied.
"Like?....", I said.
"My famous spinach & goat cheese dip, your dad's famous stake, buttered asparagus, mash potatoes and gravy, and for dessert tuxedo cake", She listed.
"As delicious as those all sound, there is only six of us eating dinner and....", I said while looking at the cart full of ingredients needed.
"You are getting extra why?", I asked.
"Well it's better to have extra than to run out, plus there will be more than just six of us", She confirmed.

I was shocked.

"What?! Mom! Who else did you invite?!", I asked pissed.
"Sharpay, Taylor, Martha, Kelsi, Chad, Zeke, Jason, and Ryan", She listed.

OH MY GOD.

"MOM! Are you serious?!", I said in disbelief.
"What?", She replied.
"They are going to be overwhelmed especially Gabi! She would probably want to leave! Mom why didn't you ask me first before inviting them over?!", I said angry.
"I don't see the big deal Troy", She said annoyed.
"Mom! This isn't the Gabriella you once knew, she is different, a lot different now", I told her.
"I'm sure she wont mind", My mom said.
"Mom! She is different! and in my opinion she seems more vulnerable", I mentioned.
"Well I'm sorry Troy but we can not just un-invite them", She responded.

I sighed. I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS! My mother is just unbelievable sometimes.

"You better hope this dinner will go right, because if I can't see my daughter after today, I'm blaming it on you", I said.
"Oh, you're over reacting, come one help me reach the gravy mix", She said.

I sighed. This is going to be a long night.

MEANWHILE....

GABRIELLA'S P. O. V
          As I rounded tables serving coffee I glanced up at the clock too see the time. 5:30pm. I had 30min left of my shift then I am going to be dragged into this dreadful dinner. As I walked back to the beverage bar, Elizabeth was there wiping dish.

"How's it going sweet heart?", She asked.
"Good, at least it isn't as bad as yesterday", I mentioned.
Elizabeth giggled, "I know but hey at least the café is doing well", She said.

I nodded smiling.

As I put away dishes, Lilly came out of the corridors holding the princess coloring book Troy bought her along with her crayon case.

"Mommy help please", She called.

I lifted her and seated her on the stool so she could color on the counter.

"Whatcha got there pretty?", Elizabeth asked her.
"Troy got me a new coloring book", She said happily.
"Can I see?", Elizabeth asked.

I watched as Lilly smiled sweetly.

"Look at that, it's very pretty", Elizabeth mentioned.
"Troy and I colored this one", She pointed out to Elizabeth.
"Very impressive, you like Troy?", Elizabeth asked.
"Yes! He is my best friend!", Lilly said.

Elizabeth laughed and gave her a big hug.

"By the way how's it going between you to?", Elizabeth asked.
"Nothing really", I said as I put dishes away.
"What do you mean? I thought you guys are starting to bloom into a relationship", She said.
