Broken Chapter 35: Birthday Planning

TROY'S P. O. V
Ever since I heard the words 'I love You' leave my daughters mouth my whole world turned upside down, in a way I cannot describe. Who knew something so small and precious could completely change your life. However, the mood changed once I noticed her expression change. She did not seem too pleased about Lilly and I's interaction. I wanted to pull her a side and ask her what I did wrong this time but I couldn't. I just won the game and my daughter said, 'I love You' for the first time. I couldn't have her ruin the moment. The moment I have been longing to hear.

Today is my off day and I decided to go visit the café. Maybe have a chance and talk to her. Once I entered the café, all you could hear was "Daddy!" as two little feet ran towards me and small little arms embraced my legs.

"Hello pretty", I said smothering her with kisses when I lifted her up into my arms.
"Don't you have to play basketball?', She asked.
"Nope, today I came to spend time with you", I replied.

I watched as she let an adorable smile leave her face. I then glanced around the café to see if I can spot her. Once, I spotted her I peered over a little bit more to see what she was doing. She was under the table with a small tiny room sweeping the crumbs from under. I watched her as she slowly got up and once she turned around our eyes connected. She quickly looked away as she walked towards the trash can to dump the crumbs out. I then made my move and walked over to where she was.

"Hey", I said not knowing how to start off the convo.

GABRIELLA'S P. O. V
The minute I turned around from sweeping the crumbs under the table my eyes connected with his. Ones I wasn't planning on seeing anytime soon. I quickly glanced away and made my way to the garbage can to dump the crumbs I collected. After what happened at the arena I did not want to face him anytime soon. Until he said, 'hey' then I realized now he is stand near me with our daughter in his hands.
"Hi", I replied back awkwardly.
"I thought I'd come down today and just spend time with Lilly here", He said.

I nodded my head and proceeded back to work. I went around to pick up a few dirty dishes before putting them in the dish washer. As I was loading the dish washer, they were seated at the counter right in front of me as they coloured. I looked at the time to see it was 11:45am and it was time for Lilly to have her lunch.

"Lilly, are you hungry?", I asked her.
"Yes please mommy", She said politely.

I quickly washed my hands and went to retrieve her lunch bag in the break room. Once I got it, I heard my name being called by Elizabeth who was helping Bobby with something in the kitchen.

"Everything okay outside dear?", She asked.
"Yup, Troy is just outside with Lilly other than that everything is under control", I replied.
"Okay, I will be out soon, as soon as I am finish this", She said.
"No problem, take your time", I said.

I then made my way back out. I placed the her lunch bag on top of the counter and started taking out her food placing it in front of her. I took out her sandwich and stuck her straw into her juice box. I watched her as she took a bit of her sandwich.

"Wanna bite Daddy", She said hold her sandwich to him.
"I'm okay princess, you eat your food, Daddy had a big breakfast", He replied. Then she proceeded back to eating her lunch.
"Do you want anything? it's on me?", I offered.
"Water would be just fine thanks", He said.

I poured him a glass of water and I slide it to him.

"Thanks, aren't you going to eat lunch?", He asked.
"I'm not hungry yet", I replied.
"You sure, I can step out and go buy something?", He suggested.
"No, no need I have a lunch, I am just not hungry yet", I said.

Then Jen entered the café.

"Hey girl, you in today?", I asked.
"Yup, one of my shorter shifts today", She replied.
"Hello Troy, Hi pretty Lilly", Jen greeted.
"Hello", Troy said with a smile.
"Hi aunty Jen!", Lilly greeted.
"How's one of my favourite little girls today", Jen asked.
"Well!", Lilly replied.
"So I heard someone's birthday is just approaching right around the corner", Jen said teasing.
Lilly giggled, "It's mine aunty Jen!".
"And how old are we turning this year?", Jen asked.
"Four!", Lilly playfully shouted holding four fingers out.
"That's right! Is it okay if we throw a party?", Troy asked.

I starred at him as I gulping down air.

"Ummm...we just keep it simple Troy", I said.
"Oh come on, let me plan this one. Everything will be on me", He said trying to convince me.
"No, I can't let you do that", I said.
"Okay fine, how about you and Lilly come with me and you can give your opinions and says", He compromised.
"Troy...", I said getting annoyed.
"Come on Gabi, this will be my first time spending my daughter's birthday with her. At least let me do this", He argued.

I just kept my mouth shut. I was really not feeling this.

"What do you say Lil's? we can do a theme, with anything you want, cinderella, fairies, sleeping beauty, bell...anything", He told her.
"Ummm...I don't know daddy, I don't need a big party. As long as you're there I am happy", My little girl said thoughtfully.
"But you're turning four, Don't you want to start your fourth birthday with excitement ?", He convinced.

Lilly looked at me for an answer.

"Come on Gabs please, I promise you can be there every step of the way, if you don't like certain decorations then we wont get them, but please let me do this once", He pleaded.
I rubbed my temples annoyed, "Fine but I want to keep this simple, nothing grande, just simple", I warned.
"Yes! When are you free next?", He said excitedly.
"I work tomorrow and then I am off the following day", I said.
"Okay perfect I am also off. My coach has a meeting with some people so I can definitely do that day which is a...Friday", I said as I checked my phone.
"Her Birthday falls next Saturday", I mentioned.
"No problem, we can definitely make it happen with in one week", He said.
"Are you sure? Don't you think it will be kind of late?", I assured.
"Nope, with Sharpay's help I am sure she will find away", He confirmed.
"Okay", I replied back.

I then took a deep breath and proceeded back to my job. I don't know how this is going to work but I sure hope he doesn't go overboard.

HELLO! It's safe to say I am back for a couple of weeks since I am finished my exams! I'm going to try and update as fast as I can cause I know alot of you want this story to get on the Roll. Sorry if this is shorter then the other chapters but trust me! It is going to get better. Something very Dramatic will be coming your way.... 😏
