This is Who I am Now

I didn't want to leave the comfort of my wonderful bed, but I knew that I had to just like everyone else in the mansion. There is a pair of fresh work out clothes on my desk, so I quickly change into them, and that's when my brain finally kicks in.

The letter that I had been writing to Raven the night before is no longer on top of my desk and the extra supplies that I had out just in case I needed them had been put away. Then my biggest clue was waking up in my bed instead of in my chair where I had last remembered myself being before I fell asleep, that and Alex was no longer in the room with me.

"I'm glad to hear that you're finally awake, I was beginning to worry. You will be on your own this morning for training, Hank and I are going to be finalizing our plans for Alex and Sean this morning in case you need to find either of us for any reason."

"Ok, thanks Charles." I say out loud to his familiar voice in my head.

Opening the fridge door, I grab one of many bottles of water and am about to guzzle it down when I hear the crashing of a window breaking. Out of instinct I bolt towards the stairs, taking them two at a time, to get up there as fast as I can to see what the hell is going on up here.

I was already out of breath from my work out but running up the stairs as fast as I can makes my breathing even worse. When I see the group of mutants, I ask them my question. I'm surprised that my voice doesn't sound as tired as what I'm feeling.

"What the hell is going on up here?" I shout running into my room to see almost everyone surrounding my bedroom window.

I hate it whenever anyone just invites themselves into my room without having permission.

"Come on, they're going to push Banshee out the window and try to make him fly." Raven says excitedly grabbing my free hand and dragging me towards the window with her.

I let her pull me because I' too confused about why she's being nice to me so suddenly. Normally if you piss her off she'll hate you for life.

There weren't many spaces left, one of the few spots that I can see is above Alex's head. I take another sip of my bottle and throw it on my bed before walking towards Alex so that I can jump on his back. Which successfully catches him off guard.

"What the hell?" He asks looking back at me, questioning my sanity.

"I want to see what's going on and the only place that there would be enough room for me is above your head." I reply smiling down at him shyly, but also strangely happy too.

I don't want to push my limits with him, but it's not like I was lying about the only available space, sure there was another one just above Raven's head too. It's just right now I don't trust her.

Turning back around, Alex moves his arms further up my legs to get a better grip on my thighs so that I wouldn't fall off him. My blush darkens a few shades at the new contact.

"What about me? I'm smaller than the rest of you in case any of you have forgotten." I look down sadly at Libby, I always forget that about her.

I also can't believe that I forgot about her in general. Without saying anything Alex was about to let me down knowing what I was going to say, but before I could Erik bends down and picks her up so that she can join us.

Libby and I watch each other's faces and Alex freezes underneath me, the three of us remembering the conversation that we had yesterday in the grocery store parking lot about how she feels about being near Erik. Libby smiles up at us and directed her, 'thank you,' towards Erik, but Alex and I still stay as rigged at statues in nerves.
