You opened your eyes against the blinding sun and raised your hand to shield your eyes until a figure blocked the bright rays. You couldn't make out a face in the shadow but you felt no fear in their presence. You heard the muffled sound of their voice and could tell it was a man. You sat up slowly and felt your head split in pain and dots danced across your eyes. You let your vision clear up, and realized the man had been talking.
What happened? Where were you?
You looked around and realized you weren't on the dirt road. The Sun wasn't a Sun. It was a lamp that had been overhead. You looked around for the man, and saw the ends of a coattail go through a door.
You closed your eyes for a second and stood up slowly. Your legs wobbled and you gripped the table you had been laying on. You gained your composure and turned to go through the door you had seen the coattails in, but the man came back.
You were surprised to see the man you had been looking for.
Grell Sutcliff stood in front of you with a worried expression.
