across the air that surrounds us
while our concave hearts
beat in unison.
our sadness is held back
as we kiss each other's lips
and all that pain
seems to slip away.
in the bed
beneath your sheets
our hearts combine
and the cold we felt before
one another
dissipates.
with our fingers intertwined
and the serenity in your breathing
we can find peace
in the world that's crumbling
under our toes.
