A Very Unfortunate Event

Time for my second date with Ethan. It's been a week since that kiss in the park. I didn't think it was weird going on a date or kissing him considering we've known each other for almost 5 months now. Time has really flown by and I couldn't believe how close I've gotten with Ethan. This time, the date was at the park where we had our first kiss. I drove over to the park to meet Ethan and got the best parking spot. Our date was at 8;00 pm so we could watch the sunset. I got out of the car and Ethan was nowhere. I was in charge of the picnic blanket and everything else was on him. I opened up my phone and went on snap chat to waste time. I scrolled through stories and saw Ethan had one. I opened it up and it was him at some party with a guy slightly older than him and some girl. My stomach immediately twisted into a knot. Who is that girl and why is she all over Ethan and that guy. I got so caught up and realized it was already sunset and almost 9:15. Looks like Ethan stood me up for that blonde chick. I folded up the blanket and started to head back to my car. I was halfway there when I heard that calming voice call my name. I couldn't look at him so I just kept walking. "Claire wait please don't go I need to talk to you," he said. I was so upset that he was an hour and 15 minutes late. It's probably stupid but considering some blonde girl was all over that guy and kind of Ethan made it worse. "I don't want to hear it, Ethan, I know you were with that blonde girl. Just forget it and let me go home" I said with tears in my eyes. I kept walking until I felt someone grab my hand. " Claire I know you are upset with me, hell even I'm upset with me. Please just let me explain," he said sadly. I couldn't turn around because then he would see my tears. Before I could wipe them away he walked in front of me. "Oh babe I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to make this happen," he said with a shaky voice. He wiped the tears away from my eyes and rubbed my cheek. "I thought we had something. I thought that I meant something to you? Please just let me go" I said as a tear rolled down my cheek.

"Claire you mean everything to me. Your my locker buddy and I can't believe how close we have gotten. I love every minute I spend with you and I'm so sorry I'm late" he said very sincerely. "I just want to go home," I said sadly. I was able to loosen his grip and get to my car. I started to drive but I stopped. I stopped because I knew this wasn't what was supposed to happen. If I left I would be running. I need to face what's in front of me. I pulled back into the parking space and luckily Ethan was still there.
