That Old Red Dress

I got home and told my mom about the date I had and how excited I was. She told me about how Lulu's is really fancy and was surprised he would take me there on a first date. I spent hours trying to find what to wear. I tried on this red dress I had bought for prom...the prom where I got stood up by Randy Davis. I hated that kid sometimes. Not to be rude but he was just a piece of work. I found out that it was a dare and he didn't even show up to prom. He was too busy getting wasted at a college girls party. Thank god he got kicked out of school for showing up drunk one day. He was a douche and I can't believe I said yes to a guy like him.

The next morning I woke up to a text from a number with no name. It was the sweetest text though so I knew it was from Ethan right away. I can't believe he's already hitting it off with me and I've known him for one day. It kind of scares me, though. Is he doing this with other girls? What does he see in me I mean come on? I guess I just have to trust him. Anyways the text read: Good Morning Claire! I hope you're having a great morning and I bet you look prettier than ever. I wanted to tell you I'm so excited for our date tonight and I can't wait to see how great you look. See you soon beautiful. -Ethan. I can't believe he called me beautiful. Does he really think I'm beautiful? Wow, I'm loving how this day is going already. Time flew by and I started to get ready for my fancy date at Lulu's. I kept the makeup simple because I didn't have anything to cover up. As conceited as that sounds I've been blessed with good skin. I put on a little eyeshadow, lipstick, and mascara. I put on the red dress and looked in the mirror. For once I felt a little confident. I took a picture and sent it to my group chat with Claudia, Olivia, and Penelope. I hear a doorbell ring and I instantly got butterflies. Shortly after I heard my mom call my name. I sprayed some perfume on, strapped up my heels and made my way downstairs. At the bottom of the stairs, I saw Ethan standing there with a very expensive looking suit. His jaw dropped when he saw me and I couldn't help but blush. As I made it to the bottom he reached his hand out to help me down. I couldn't wait for us to start our date. I hugged my mom and introduced Ethan to Luke and we were out the door. He did all those cute gentlemen things for me like open the door and help me in. We got in the car and I couldn't help but laugh."Why are you laughing" he said with a smile. "I can't help it. I would never have thought a girl like me would be going on a date with a guy like you." I said biting down on my lip. "Claire you look beautiful and I couldn't be happier to take you on a date," he said with yet again his cute little smile.
