A New Locker Buddy?

Week one went pretty fast but full of excitement and new things. My favorite class so far was probably biology. I never liked biology but this class just really stuck to me. It was Friday and I was heading to my locker when I heard an unfamiliar voice. I knew it wasn't Ethan because we had different schedules and it wasn't Claud because she didn't have morning classes. "Hey Claire wait up." said a soft and deep voice. I turned around to see one of my classmates, Jake. "Oh hey, Jake!" I said wryly. "I was wondering if you wanted to go check out the campus square because I heard it's super neat." I mean why not he's just being a good friend and we usually get put together in biology class so. "Okay sure why not?" I said wryly again. On our way, we talked and just got to know each other a little more. Turns out he is from Nashville so he knows his way around. "So I'm new on campus but not to the city so I would love to show you around. There are a lot of cool places to eat and explore around here," he said blushing. I wonder if he knew I had a boyfriend and if he was asking me on a date. "I'm sure we could go explore...as friends of course." I made that very clear. "yeah of course as friends yeah yeah." he said looking down. It's as if he wanted to go on a date. Whatever I just need to show him that Ethan and I are very serious. Before I knew it I felt someone grab my waist and turn me around. It was Ethan! "Hey babe who is your friend here?" he said kind of annoyed. I mean I don't think Ethan is the jealous type but he's probably just curious. "Oh him he's my friend. His name is Jake I'm in the same biology group and he was showing me Campus square." I said with a reassuring smile. "yeah I'm just her friend and I offered to show her around Nashville just as friends." he looked very nervous which didn't help his appearance to my boyfriend. "Oh well it was nice meeting you but we have a dinner to get to at 6:00," he said confidently. "It was nice talking to you Jake I'll see you around." I never thought a guy like that would get so scared. What does that mean? Does he have feelings for me? I sure do hope not. Anyways I have a dinner to get too.
