Wyatt Ray, son of Colt and Hedli Ray. Right out of high school he joined up with the military. His cousin Logan just went off to college with his fiancée and he just got back from another long deployment. He's thinking of joining the rodeo circuit a...
I looked up at him as he stood in the doorway of Roper's stall. "Um." He scratched the back of his neck. "Um would you like to go do something after our events tonight? Just you and I?" He asked.
He was trying to be good about it and was scared I would turn him down. "I don't have anything better to do." I told him.
"So is that a yes?" He asked. I nodded. "Yes." I replied. He smiled softly. I led Roper out then tied him to the stall ring. I saddled the other three horses and made sure all of the girths and bridle straps were good.

I parked and unloaded the boys. They were excited to be out of the cramped trailer. Rob was parked on one side while Wyatt was just now pulling up on the other. I brushed the boys out and put their fly blankets and masks on.
I took them to their stalls and checked in. I got my back number and found out the nights I'm competing. Then went back to clean tack.
Once that was done it was show time. I mounted my header and Wyatt followed me into the ring. I backed Tex into the box and scratched his flank with my heel.
He squared up and snorted. I held him back. They released the steer. Tex bolted forwards. I swung my rope above his head. Then threw it over the steer's. It caught and I pulled back.
Wyatt collected its heels in one swift motion. The steer stopped and was trapped between the ropes. Our time was stopped. The steer was released after a few seconds. I looked up at the time.
Faster than the last. I rode out before dismounting. Then led Tex to his stall. I brushed him down and have him his supper.
"Not doing so hot are ya Smith." I turned and saw Ryan standing there. "What do you want gold digger?" I asked him.
"Who said I was a gold digger?" He asked. "Me. You selfish, f$$$ing b@@@@@." I told him. "Language baby doll." He replied.
All four of my horses had their attention locked on him. Wyatt was coming down the isle. "What did you just call me?" I asked him.
"Do I need to refresh your memory baby?" He asked. Tex shoved past me almost biting the man. The other three wanted out. Ryan took off away from my horse.
Tex backed up standing with his shoulder next to mine. I scratched him as Wyatt came up next to Luis. "What was that about?" He asked.
"Wanting me as a partner again. He thinks I'm not going to get anywhere without him." I told him. "Well he's not going to get the best partner I've ever had." Wyatt smirked.
"So how about you and I go to eat?" He asked. "I don't have anymore rides tonight so what do you think?" I asked him. He smirked as I closed up Tex's stall.
He led me to his truck and opened the passenger door like always. I got in and he closed the door behind me. I buckled up as he got in. He buckled up and started the engine.
Never have I ever heard a diesel engine purr as nicely as his truck. He pulled out of the grounds and drove to a restaurant.
"No fast food tonight." He told me as he pulled up to muddy river bar and grill. "Hope you have your ID sweetheart." He added. I made sure to have my wallet on me as he opened the door.
He put his arm around me. I moved my arm over his letting him put his arm around my waist. "Hate drunkards?" Wyatt asked. "They can get abusive." I told him.
"I'll keep you safe tonight."
We walked in the bar and continued to hold me by my waist. We found a table and sat down. "So what would you like to start out with?"
"How about we start out with the sampler and two buds?" I asked him looking at the menu. "What ever you want." He replied.
It was ordered when a waitress came up and was a little too friendly to Wyatt. "Hello cowboy how may I help you?" She asked.
Wyatt's POV This waitress that came over had too much showing. "What would you like?" She asked me. "The sampler platter and two buds." I told her. "For you and her?" She asked looking disgusted.
"Yes. For her too." I replied. "May I see your ID ma'am?" She asked Cassi. Cassi showed her ID then the waitress walked off.
She came back with the beers and platter. "May I speak to your manager please?" I asked her. She walked off and came back with the man. The man dismissed her to talk to us.
"What seems to be the problem sir?" He asked me. "Well for starters that waitress should put more clothes on since this is a family joint and she didn't ask me for my ID when she took my drink order.
"She did ask for her ID and left after that." I told the man. "Then may I see your ID?" The man asked. I showed him it and he nodded.
"You won't have a problem with her the rest of your meal." He told me. "Thank you sir." I said before he walked away. I took a sip of my beer before we heard yelling.
I moved to her side of the booth.
Cassi's POV Wyatt sat next to me. We shared the platter. His arm moved back around me. He pulled me closer to his side.
After we ate and had a few more drinks we left. Once back he helped me out and led me to my trailer. "Did you have a good night?" He asked. I nodded against his shoulder.
He kissed the top of my head. "That's good." He said.
