Edgewood, Ia

I cut around the barrels quickly almost knocking one over. As long as it stays upright I'm good. I brought Roper to a sprint knowing he didn't have the speed of Dawson. But a close second.

Once across the finish Wyatt caught Roper once he was trotting. "Switch quickly. I've already got mine ready." He told me. I got Luis saddled and warmed up and cooled Roper off. I asked if I calf rope tomorrow night and they allowed it.

Once steer wrestling was up I watched several men go before it was my turn. Most of them think it's Wyatt wrestling the steer until they see me doing it.

I backed him into the box ready to go. They released the steer and Luis blocked its way. Wyatt rode up next to me. I took the chance grabbing its horns and flipping it to the ground. I held it still until they had the time.

Not going to lie but I'm pretty sure I've got a small bruise from a horse. I got up and back on my horse. We rode over to the stalls and dismounted our horses.

I brushed the two used tonight and gave them all their dinner. Then went back to the trailer. I got a shower then laid on the bed with his laptop in front of me.

I looked at quarter horses people have put up for sale. Most putting the speed of the horse and if they've ever barrel raced.

A white horse caught my attention easily. I looked more into it. A white filly. The speed was close to Dawson's. The people selling her are in Corning, Arkansas. I think that's on the way to Marshall.

The door opened then closed. Boots were pulled off then feet plodding to the bedroom. I looked up as Wyatt leaned on the door frame. He looked tired. I closed the laptop and went over to him.

He wrapped his arms around me once I was close enough. "So where are we going after this?" He asked. "A quick stop home then on to Belton." I replied. "Sounds nice." He said.

"I bet we could stay at my place long enough for me to get laundry done then go onto yours." I said. "Plus I've got to pick up a horse in Arkansas if it's the one I'm thinking about." I told him.

"I don't mind at all." He said before kissing my cheek. Then he moved from the embrace and got clothes for a shower. I checked the route before getting under the covers.

He got in bed next to me and pulled me close. I intertwined our fingers together and he kissed my neck.

I pulled up to the place that had the horse

I pulled up to the place that had the horse. A man was out on the front porch as I stopped the truck. Wyatt and Rylin had no idea what the horse looked like.

I unbuckled and got out. The man and I shook hands and he led me over to a corral. He whistled and the filly came over to us. She sniffed me and snorted.

"So are you going directly back out onto the circuit or waiting a few?" The man asked. "Going home for a few days then going on to another rodeo." I told him.

"She's a fast learner and will learn on the way." He said as she pranced around. "And will bite and kick at stallions."

"I've got two stallions that I'm possibly going to get fixed." I told him. "Do you have a gelding?" He asked. "Yes. Would you like me to get him?" I asked.

"Let's see how she reacts to him." I asked Wyatt to bring me Roper and a few seconds later there he was. I took Roper from Wyatt while the man and my boyfriend introduced each other.

The filly came over and sniffed Roper. The man brought her out and both sniffed each other. Roper stood perfectly still letting her sniff him. "Is he always this laid back?" The man asked.

"Pretty much. He lets the other two push him around and he doesn't care because he knows when they want to be left alone. Then my stallions are just the same way. They're just as calm as him most days."

The man simply nodded. She tried to make Roper move and he didn't budge. "Plus she's got to earn his trust for that to happen." I added. "I'd say you've got your horse." The man said.

I payed him the amount wanted and led the filly to the trailer. My two stallions nickered as we came closer. "Once we get to my house those two will have a vets appointment. I've been meaning to get them fixed for a year or so." I told Wyatt as I got into the drivers seat.

"Sounds like vaccinations too." He said. "Yup." I replied. "I'll call Bailie and see if she can. This would be great practice for her to get." "So wait until we get to your place?" I asked. He nodded.

"And it won't cost as much as a regular vet. Once you meet someone in the family your apart of the family." He told me.
