Wyatt had a look of worry on his face after getting the mail. He sat in his recliner reading a letter. I didn't bother him. Once he put it down he rubbed his face with both of his hands.

I went over to him and sat on the side. He pulled me onto his lap and held me close. "I have to leave after NFR to go back overseas." He said as I laid my head on his shoulder.

He kissed my forehead holding me as close as he could. I knew he didn't want to go back. Rylin came in with her phone in hand. "That was your dad. They said to come over for supper." She told Wyatt.

He nodded still holding me. "Do you want me to tell them we can't?" She asked. "No. Tell them we'll be over in a few minutes." He told her. I let him up and we went to his truck.

We pulled up to his parents house a few minutes later. Rylin got out quickly. Wyatt sat there staring forwards. "Wyatt?" He didn't stir. I moved closer to him.

"Wyatt." I said a little louder. He still didn't move. I finally got out and went around to his side. I opened his door and tried to get him to look at me.

He was out of it. I unbuckled him and tried to get him to snap out of it. I shook him until he finally came to. He looked around like he was trying to figure out where he was.

"Wyatt." He turned to look at me. Scared written across his face. He jumped out of the truck and wrapped me in his arms. "Please don't leave me." He said. I hugged him tight. "I'm not going to leave you. I'm right here I'm not going anywhere." I told him.

He kept hugging me tighter and tighter. I put my hands on either side of his face. "Wyatt." He looked at me fear emitting from his eyes. "Your going to be fine. I promise I'll stay right next to you the rest of the time we have before you are deployed." I told him.

I pulled his head down and kissed his forehead. "Come on let's go inside. You can hold me as close as you need to." I told him. He nodded with my hands still on his face.

We walked in and he immediately sat down on the couch with me on his lap. He put his head in the crook of my neck. His arms around me. The door opened and he didn't lift his head. Colt came in with an elderly man.

He noticed something wrong with Wyatt. I rubbed his arm. He didn't stir. I kissed his cheek. Then temple. He pulled me closer. The elderly man was right next to us. "He's fine Colt. Just shock. He'll come back to. This happened to me when I was in the war." The elder stated.

I kissed his forehead. He took a deep rattling breath. I rubbed his arm again. He flinched this time. I lifted his head to see fear still in his eyes. "Look right at me." I told him. "Take a deep breath if you can hear me."

He took a deep breath and blinked. "Remember when I said I'm never going to leave you?" He nodded. "I promise I won't." I told him. "I don't want to go back to that." He told me.

"I know you don't. We don't have to worry about it until it's time. Ok?" He nodded. "Ok. Your going to be fine." I told him before kissing him.

After supper with his family we went back to his house. I walked with him back in. He got clothes for a shower and went into the bathroom. After thirty minutes I went in to check on him.

He was sitting against the wall with the water running over him. I quickly turned the water off and got into the shower with him. I pulled him to me holding him. He wrapped his arms around me as he started sobbing.

I kissed his forehead trying to comfort him. I continued to kiss him until he stopped sobbing. That concerned me. "Wyatt." He looked up at me.

"I promise you'll be fine." I told him. He put his head on my shoulder. I put mine over his. "Come on let's get you in bed." I said getting him to stand. He stood up and stepped out of the shower with me. I put a towel around his waist and led him to the bed.

He laid down on it and I got a quick shower before returning to him. He was in the same condition as I left him. I pulled him to me and put his head on my chest. He had his eyes closed. I kissed the top of his head and ran my fingers through his hair.

His breathing had became even. I kissed him again as I continued to run my fingers through his hair. He was so calm now. I laid my head back and closed my eyes.

I woke up suddenly as he yelled. I sat up with him on the other side of the bed. I shook him as he yelled and screamed. "Wyatt." He didn't respond. I tried what his commander would call him. "Ray." He jolted.

I shook him again until he was awake in a cold sweat. "Your safe. Your safe." I told him as he held onto me. This was the only way I knew how to comfort him.

He sobbed as I rubbed his back. "Your home. Your not there." I told him. He continued to breakdown. I held him close to me. Then kissed his head again.

"Your fine soldier. Your not in that terrible place." He calmed back down as I spoke to him. "Your going to live to see tomorrow." I assured him. He was finally calm enough that I laid down and kept my arms around him.
