Ianto's pov
Nothing, it surrounds me, envelops me. I cry out but no-one answers. I call out for Jack, for Tosh, for the team, even Owen, but to no avail. I feel tears running down my cheeks as I realise that this is the darkness that Owen and Jack described after death, this is the only life after death. The darkness begins to fade into light and suddenly I have hope, maybe this isn't all that there is, maybe there is more.
I wake up.
I'm on the autopsy table in Torchwood and Owen is standing over me on one side with Alec on the other side of him. Owen has a scalpel in his hand but he drops it in shock when he hears me breathing. Alec drops whatever he was holding and runs off, presumably to get Jack, and Owen quickly gets himself together and puts the scalpel and whatever Alec was holding back on the trolley that is by the autopsy table.
Before he can say anything Jack pushes past him and grabs me in a hug that is so tight I nearly pass out. "I couldn't bear the fact that I had lost you again" he whispers in my ear. He finally releases me and Owen clears his throat.
"I hate to interrupt this tear-jerking reunion but I need to check Ianto over," He says.
Jack steps back and calls to Tosh to get me some clothes as the other team members had gathered around the autopsy room and Owen moves forward with scanner in hand. He scans me for alien intervention and then check my heartbeat. "You're fine," he says with surprise evident in his tone.
Tosh hands me a suit and the rest of the team leave me to get dressed. I still can't quite believe that I am actually immortal. It was always there in the back of my mind but I never quite believed it until now.
I walk up into the main hub and ask Tosh what happened.
"Alec turned up for work and saw that Gray had you hostage. He shot Gray but Gray managed to shoot you as he fell. You died in hospital but Jack managed to pull some strings so that Owen could do your autopsy." She replies.
"What happened to Adam?" I ask.
"Turns out that he was connected to Gray's life force so when Gray died so did he."
"And Isaiah?" I ask.
The expression on Tosh's face is enough of an answer. "He didn't make it."
A:N/ Sorry it's short but I didn't feel like I could really carry on the chapter after Ianto hears about Isaiah's death.
I'm sorry but someone had to die and Isaiah was the person who I was least attached to.
We're nearly at the end of the story but I will be writing more stuff although maybe not on this story line.
As usual vote if you liked it and thanks for reading
