Link watched in rage as his evil twin disappeared from the ground below. He felt the anger dissipate as he glanced down to the water, red from Ruto's blood.

"No." He gasped, diving off the cliff into the water. Link swam over to her body, floating on the surface face down. He grabbed her wrist and pulled her to him, swimming to shore. He reached the edge and trudged up, many Zora awaiting him.

Link stood and took Ruto's still form in his arms, finding it hard to place one foot in front on another.

"Link!" He looked up and saw Sheik, running to him. As she reached him, she placed a hand on his shoulder.

"Are you okay?" She asked, Link avoiding the question and still walking forwards. Again another voice spoke up to him.

"Hero," An older Zora approached him,

"I can take her." He said, putting out his hands. Link only gave a sad nod before slowly passing his long time friend over to the Zora. As soon as he no longer held her, Link immediately felt all his strength leave him, falling to his knees.

"Link!" He heard the call before collapsing on the stone, his vision sinking into black.

-----------------------------------

His eyes opened to a dim room, a calming blue light flickering beside him. His mind was blank as he sat up and swung his legs over the side of the bed, silently placing his feet into the boots beside it. He obtained his hat and weapons, slipping them onto him. He stood and made his way to the door. Slowly twisting the handle, Link stepped out of the room.

"You're awake." A voice spoke behind him. Link turned and saw Sheik, leaning against the wall outside the room. He ignored her and continued walking down the hall. Quiet footsteps followed behind him, a soft hand places in his shoulder.

"Where are you going?" Sheik asked, no sarcasm or anger behind her words. Link again didn't respond, only shrugged the hand off and kept walking.

"Link, we shouldn't just leave, there is going to be a funeral for Ruto and you're expected to be there."

Sheik said, placing another hand on his shoulder.

"I don't care." Link moaned, stopping his stride.

"What?" Sheik whispered, her voice dropping in volume.

"I don't care," Link repeated.

"She's dead, and Dark is on the move, we don't have time to sit around mourning." Link snarled.

"What are you taking about?" Sheik gasped,

"She is one of your best friends, you've known each other for years!"

"I said, I don't care!" Link exclaimed, spinning around and facing her with the same rage he felt fighting his copy.

"Well you should!" Sheik responded, her voice raising to match his.

"We do this together, you can't just get up and leave all of a sudden, I'm here to help you."

"Well, you've done a bad job at that!" Link boomed, throwing his arms up.

"How!?" Sheik cried.

"Every time I needed you the most, you weren't there! Darunia, gone! Nabooru, you ran off with a crazy idea in your head! Rauru, you were unconscious! And Now, you were asleep! So, no you haven't been there to help!" Link screamed.

"Now if you wanna help," Link growled, his voice down to a low hiss.

"Stay in the shadows." With a glare, Link spun on his heel and walked with a furious step to the water, changed to his Zora tunic and dove in, still a pale red from Ruto, who now forever sleeps.
