Dark Link slouched down, collapsing in the dark alley, his energy drained from the attack. Blinking was helpful but sapped his strength very quickly.

"Master." He called in his mind, visualizing the dark chamber Ganondorf sat in, awaiting the final three souls.

"What is it?" A voice responded, growling.

"Another soul, the sheikah of shadows." Dark concentrated, feeling the soul leave him and enter the cage, quickly absorbed by Ganon.

"Good. Now, get me the last two!" The shout broke the shadow's concentration, shattering the mental connection he created to deliver the soul, and throwing his head against the stone wall behind him.

"Impossible to please." Dark Link growled, dawning his cloak and stepping out into the empty, nightly streets. He walked briskly toward the gate, wanting to leave the populated town very quickly. As the distance to the gate lessened, he heard a voice.

"Oi!" It called, drawing his eyes to two guards standing under the gate, one holding his hand up, palm facing Dark.

"No one is allowed to leave the walls, King's orders!" The guard called.

"Of course." Dark mumbled, continuing his walk to the gate.

"If you do not turn back, we have orders to kill." The guards raised the spears they wielded, pointing them at Dark as he approached them.

"I'd love to see you try." Dark sneered, reaching back to grasp his sword as he broke into a run, ready to fight. He closed his hands around the hilt, but didn't find it.

"What?!" He hissed, skidding to a stop before the guard as one threw their spear, aiming for the shadow's chest. Dark spun to the side, the spear's tip piercing his cloak and yanking him to the ground with the force. Dark felt his head crack against the hard cobblestone, his vision blurred. He scrambled up, ripping the cloak off as he made his way to his feet, his vision swimming.

Reaching back, he rubbed his back, feeling no sword or shield there.

"What is happening?" He groaned, dancing to the side as an arrow imbedded itself on the ground where he was standing. He glanced up, noticing a guard on the wall holding a crossbow.

"Back Down!" The guard shouted, aiming once again at Dark.

"Whatever, I don't need weapons to beat you fools anyway." He growled to himself, turning and yanking the spear from the stone. Dark charged the soldiers, holding the spear in his hands ready to impale the men like a bloody, hyrulian kabob. As he closed the distance between them, he watched as more men appeared on the wall, aiming their crossbows at him as he charged. Dark weaved as he ran, avoiding bolts as the guards fired upon him. He reached the two guards below the gate, one wielding their spear, planting their feet, ready to defend.

"Big mistake." Dark snarled with a grin before throwing the spear forwards, imbedding itself in the defending guard, blood spilling where it had pierced his chest, staining his blue and gold uniform as the guard fell silently. The evil shadow did not slow as he grasped the bloodied spear, yanking it from the fallen man and spun, feeling it jerk against him as the tip caught in the other, defenseless guard's throat, more blood pouring out like a red river, cutting the man's vocal cords and leaving him unable to scream as he bled out. Turning and grabbing the other dead guard's spear, he went to exit the wall, only now realizing the wooden drawbridge was closed, preventing his escape. He turned and walked back out from under the gate, staying close to the wall to avoid the three awaiting guards atop it. The shadow quickly turned and slammed one of the spears into the wall, quickly using it as a step to fling himself onto the wall and next to the three guards.

Using the spear he still held, he stabbed the closest guard in the head, killing the man instantly, not giving him a chance to scream as his corpse tumbling over the edge with a dull thud as it hit the cobblestones below. Now weaponless, Dark Link swung his leg out, kicking the next guard in the head, the man collapsing to the ground and dropping his crossbow in a daze. He dove and grabbed the crossbow, rolling past the third guard, standing with a spin and placing the crossbow against the man's exposed neck.

"Don't try to stop me ever again." He hissed before pulling the trigger, the bolt impaling the soldier's throat so deep, only the feathers on the end were visible. The guard fell with a shout, quieted by a black glove over his mouth. Reloading the crossbow, the Shadow looked over Hyrule Field, illuminated by the moon with a dim, white light. He lifted the loaded crossbow to his right, not looking as he pulled the trigger and shot the second guard in the forehead, dropping dead instantly. Dark leapt off the wall, leaving five corpses and lots of blood at the gate.

The whole encounter lasted two a minute and a half, from first words to last death. And through his best efforts, was quiet enough to not awake a soul throughout the town.
