"Hey" he said grinning at me.

The boy was undoubtedly handsome. He had very defined features, and his eyes were the most perfect shade of blue I had ever seen. But it was his smile that made me go all gooey. He had one of those smiles that you don't come across very often in your life. When he stood there, in the doorway, smiling at me I couldn't help but smile back.

"Er... hey" I stammered. The boy was making me nervous. This must be the same boy that opened the door last night. But I hadn't taken a good look at him before.

"You ok?" the boy broke my train of thoughts.

"Umm yeah, I'm fine" I answered, suddenly very embarrassed. This boy had seen me at my lowest point last night, what if he thought it was funny? What if he thought I was crazy? Something in the concerned way he was looking at me told me that he didn't think I was crazy.

"Do you wanna talk about last night?" He asked me, still with the concerned look on his face.

I shook my head, I really didn't want to talk about my mental breakdown with this complete stranger.

"That's fine" he said slowly, his gentle voice was reassuring me that it was fine.

"It's Soda, by the way" The boy said, holding his hand out to shake mine. I returned the gesture.

"Elizabeth, but Liz is fine" I said smiling at the boy's kind face.

"Well Liz" Soda continued, "You can come and meet the rest of the gang if you want? or you can stay here and sleep a little longer?"

Soda was being real nice to me, I knew he was a greaser to, he was wearing an unbuttoned plaid shirt, with a white shirt underneath. His sleeves were rolled up, so I could see his toned muscles. I didn't realize I was staring until Soda let out a small cough, diverting my attention away from his abs.

"Oh sorry" I said, slightly embarrassed that he had caught me checking him out.

"So do you wanna come meet the gang?" He asked looking down at me, as he was slightly taller than me.

I pondered for a little bit, I really wanted to stay in this room and decide what I was going to do now, I knew I wanted to get a lot further from my father's house than Tulsa, but I plucked up the courage and went for the second option.

"Sure, I'll come and meet your gang"

Soda nodded, grinning at me again. Every time he grinned like that my insides melted a little. He turned around and started walking down the hall. I jogged a little to catch up with him.

I could now see the house properly. It was very small, and I could tell that Soda and his family weren't quite loaded with money. The floors were wooden, and the hallway was very narrow. But the house was cosy.

Soda kept turning back to look at me, and I pretended not to notice, but I did.

The short hallway ended and opened out into a small living room, with a couch and small television. There was also a small kitchen next to it. There were four other people in the living room. Two of them were sat on the couch watching Mickey Mouse, one of them was standing with his back to us in the kitchen, and the other was sitting at the kitchen table with a beer in his hand.

The one with the beer in his hand noticed me and Soda first.

"Hey Sodapop, this your new broad?" He said nodding his head in my direction. I usually wasn't very shy at all. I got in fights with socs and other greasers all the time. But my shy side had come out when I met Soda, and now with his good looking friend as well.

It probably did look a little strange, me and Soda walking down the hall together...

"Dal, she ain't my broad" Soda said, walking over to the kitchen counter. My heart sank a little, I felt a lot more vulnerable without him by my side.

The other three guys were now staring at me as well.

"So who is this then Soda?" The boy that was sat on the couch said, walking over to Soda and playfully hitting him on the back.

"Yeah Soda, who's the new chick?" The guy sat on the floor staring at the TV screen asked, not taking his eyes off the screen.

"This is Liz, she ain't my girlfriend" said Soda, getting up from the stool and walking over to me.

"She was... umm..." Soda continued, staring at me with his amazing blue orbs. He stopped there, probably sensing that I didn't want his gang knowing about my breakdown last night.

I gave Soda a thankful smile, and he smiled back at me. I suddenly remembered that Soda and I weren't the only ones in the room. I tore my eyes away from Soda's and scanned the four boys in the room.

"Yeah... umm" I tried to come up with a believable reason why I was actually here. The rest of the gang were staring back at me, waiting for my answer.

"umm... I got in a fight with some socs last night, I got torn up pretty bad, Soda let me stay here"

"huh, You don't look that torn up hun" said the one with the beer in his hand.

"Umm, well" I stuttered.

He pushed his chair out from the small wooden table, and staggered up to me. When he got up close to me I could smell the alcohol in his breath. He tucked a strand of my long brown hair behind my ear and I shivered under his touch.

"C'mon Dally leave her alone" The guy that was stood behind the kitchen counter ordered. I hadn't heard him speak yet. He looked a bit older than the other guys, and his hair wasn't long like the rest of the gang's and he was wearing a tight black t shirt that showed off his stomach muscles well.

Dally backed away from me, harshly eyeing the guy that just defended me. He winked at me and went back to sit in his chair at the table.
